  1. 1. Decision Strategies : Something Old, Something New, and Something Borrowed

    Author : Neda Kerimi; Henry Montgomery; James Shanteau; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Decision strategies; inference; preference; compensatory; non-compensatory; Psychology; Psykologi; Psychology; psykologi;

    Abstract : In this thesis, some old decision strategies are investigated and a new one that furthers our understanding of how decisions are made is introduced. Three studies are presented. In Study I and II, strategies are investigated in terms of inferences and in Study III, strategies are investigated in terms of preferences. READ MORE

  2. 2. Decentring Criminal Law : Understandings of Justice by Victim-Survivors of Sexual Violence and their Implications for Different Justice Strategies

    Author : Hildur Fjola Antonsdottir; Rättssociologiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Sexual violence; victim-survivors; justice; Parity of participation; Nordic law; procedural justice; compensation; space;

    Abstract : The compilation dissertation is shaped by the ambition of Critical Theory, which is to imagine an alternative and emancipatory political reality to the status quo, where people who have been subjected to sexual violence are recognised and enjoy parity of participation in social life. More specifically, it aims to understand how victim-survivors of sexual violence in Iceland perceive, experience, and understand justice; and how, in a Nordic socio-legal context, this knowledge can be used to expand and develop strategies which are capable of meeting the justice interests of victim-survivors within and outside of the criminal justice system. 3. 3. Grid Connected Three-Level Converters : Studies for Wave Energy Conversion

    Author : Remya Krishna; Mats Leijon; Karin Thorburn; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Wave energy; power converters; control strategies; grid connection; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot elektronik; Engineering Science with specialization in Electronics;

    Abstract : This thesis presents an electrical system analysis of a wave energy converter (WEC) for the objective of grid connection. To transfer the enormous amount of power from waves to the load centers, efficient power electronic systems are essential. READ MORE

  4. 4. Control Strategies for Machining with Industrial Robots

    Author : Olof Sörnmo; Institutionen för reglerteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Industrial Robots; Machining; Control;

    Abstract : This thesis presents methods for improving machining with industrial robots using control, with focus on increasing positioning accuracy and controlling feed rate. The strong process forces arising during high-speed machining operations, combined with the limited stiffness of industrial robots, have hampered the usage of industrial robots in high-end machining tasks. 5. 5. Power control strategies for renewable energy systems : The inverter's role in future power systems

    Author : Sara Anttila; Cecilia Boström; Sandra Eriksson; Lena Max; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Renewable energy systems; Grid-connection; Inverter; Power control; Engineering Science with specialization in Science of Electricity; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot elektricitetslära;

    Abstract : Connecting more non-dispatchable renewable energy sources (RESs) will result in a higher power variability and a lower system inertia when the synchronous generators are replaced by inverter-connected RES. Inverter control can be divided in three categories: grid-following, grid-forming (GFM) and grid-supporting. READ MORE
