  1. 1. Scalable Scientific Stream Query Processing

    Author : Milena Ivanova; Tore Risch; Elke A. Rundensteiner; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; data stream management systems; parallel stream processing; scientific stream query processing; user-defined stream partitioning; Computer science; Datalogi; Data- och systemvetenskap; Computer Systems Sciences;

    Abstract : Scientific applications require processing of high-volume on-line streams of numerical data from instruments and simulations. In order to extract information and detect interesting patterns in these streams scientists need to perform on-line analyses including advanced and often expensive numerical computations. READ MORE

  2. 2. Reconfigurable-Hardware Accelerated Stream Aggregation

    Author : Prajith Ramakrishnan Geethakumari; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Stream; Reconfigurable Computing; Aggregation; Dataflow; FPGA; Memory Hierarchy; Compression;

    Abstract : High throughput and low latency stream aggregation is essential for many applications that analyze massive volumes of data in real-time. Incoming data need to be stored in a single sliding-window before processing, in cases where incremental aggregations are wasteful or not possible at all. READ MORE

  3. 3. Peakflow response of stream networks : implications of physical descriptions of streams and temporal change

    Author : Anna Åkesson; Anders Wörman; Alberto Viglione; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Streamflow routing; peakflow predictions; parameterization; hydrological response; stage-dependency; flooded cross-sections; stream networks; backwater effects; temporal change; land use change; Civil and Architectural Engineering; Byggvetenskap;

    Abstract : Through distributed stream network routing, it has quantitatively been shown that the relationship between flow travel time and discharge varies strongly nonlinearly with stream stage and with catchment-specific properties.Physically derived distributions of water travel times through a stream network were successfully used to parameterise the streamflow response function of a compartmental hydrological model. 4. 4. Cryptanalysis of Selected Stream Ciphers

    Author : Paul Stankovski; Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Stream cipher; cryptanalysis; FCSR; state recovery; linear relations; optimal sampling; distinguisher; HC; nonrandomness; greedy bit set algorithm.;

    Abstract : The aim of this dissertation is to show some cryptanalytical results on a selection of stream ciphers. We have grouped theory and results into three main parts. The first part focuses on the FCSR-based constructions X-FCSR and F-FCSR-H v3. For the X-FCSR family of stream ciphers we perform a severe state recovery attack. READ MORE

  5. 5. The role of nutrients for stream ecosystem function in Arctic landscapes : drivers of productivity under environmental change

    Author : Maria Myrstener; Ryan A. Sponseller; Reiner Giesler; Ann-Kristin Bergström; Tenna Riis; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nutrients; Stream; Arctic; Boreal; Primary productivity; Algae; Biofilm; Nutrient limitation; Nitrogen; Phosphorus;

    Abstract : Arctic and sub-Arctic freshwaters are currently experiencing substantial ecosystem changes due to the effects of global warming. Global warming effects on these freshwaters include increasing water temperatures, altered hydrological patterns, shifts in riparian vegetation and changes in the export of nutrients and carbon from soils.
