  1. 6. Life Prediction and Mechanical Behavior of Thermal Barrier Coatings

    Author : Yan Liu; Materialteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Stress intensity factors; Macro-cracks; Micro-cracks; Mechanical behaviour; Thermal barrier coatings; Life prediction; Material technology; Materiallära; materialteknik;

    Abstract : Delamination and spallation of thermal barrier coating (TBC) systems, used in hot parts of gas turbines, have been studied with respect to thermal fatigue. TBCs with and without pre-existing cracks were investigated. Thermal shock tests were performed until coating spallation. READ MORE

  2. 7. “I feel like I do not exist” : Adolescent Dissociative Experiences and the Importance of Trauma Type, Attachment, and Migration Background

    Author : Sabina Gusic; Institutionen för psykologi; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; adolescent; dissociation; trauma; attachment; war; refugee; posttraumatic stress; ungdomar; dissociation; trauma; anknytning; krig; flyktingar; posttraumatisk stress;

    Abstract : After experiencing potentially traumatic events (PTEs) some adolescents develop pathological dissociation. Trauma-related dissociation can be described as a break-down of the individual’s capacity to integrate emotions, thoughts, sensations, and memories about traumatic or other events into an adaptive and coherent self-image and self-narrative. 3. 8. Illumination in single cell optical microscopy studies - friend and foe

    Author : Kristofer Bodvard; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; yeast; transcription factors; signalling; fluorescence microscopy; Saccharomyces cerevisiae; light-induced stress; phototoxicity; single cell imaging;

    Abstract : This thesis focuses on how to use light as a biological stress factor in optical microscopy experiments and simultaneously use the illumination to image the spatial and temporal protein dynamics in single yeast cells. The stress responses to environmental changes other than light have been extensively investigated in budding yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, often using techniques based on population averages. 4. 9. On initiation of chemically assisted crack growth and crack propagation paths of branching cracks in polycarbonate

    Author : Ulf Hejman; Malmö högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; stress corrosion; crack initiation; multiple cracking; polycarbonate; three point bending; stress corrosion cracking; polycarbonate; dissolution; branching; experiment; finite element modelling; stress corrosion; crack initiation; multiple cracking; polycarbonate; three point bending; branching.;

    Abstract : Stress corrosion, SC, in some cases gives rise to stress corrosion cracking, SCC, which differs from purely stress intensity driven cracks in many aspects. They initiate and grow under the influence of an aggressive environment in a stressed substrate. They grow at low load and may branch. READ MORE

  5. 10. Patients with unexplained chest pain ? Pain experience, stress, coping and health-related quality of life

    Author : Margaretha Jerlock; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : chest pain; coping; illness; life events; nursing; quality of life; sleep; stress symptom;

    Abstract : Chest pain is a common symptom that causes individuals to seek acute care at emergency departments; however, more than half of these patients are judged to have no organic cause to their pain. In Sweden, the number of patients discharged from hospital with a diagnosis of unexplained chest pain (UCP) has increased from 8,432 in 1987 to 17,555 in 2005. READ MORE
