  1. 1. In conversation with simulation: The application of numerical simulation to the design of structural nodal connections

    Author : Jens Olsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; 3D Printing; Design theory; Structural design; Structural efficiency; Simulation; Peridynamics; Force flux density; Nodal connections; Conceptual design; Steel structures; Design process; Digital design;

    Abstract : The thesis explores methods for integration of structural analysis, design and production in a digital design environment. The somewhat ambiguous title implies the ambition to make such integration in relation to the explorative phase of the design process which is described by Donald Schön as having a conversational character. 2. 2. The crustal architecture of the central Skellefte district, Sweden : Structural analysis, setting of VMS deposits and 3D-modelling

    Author : Tobias E. Bauer; Allan Gibbs; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Malmgeologi; Ore Geology;

    Abstract : The Skellefte district in northern Sweden is a Palaeoproterozoic volcanic arc hosting abundant volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposits. The dominating rocks in the district are submarine volcanic and volcaniclastic rocks of the Skellefte Group deposited in an extensional regime at 1.89–1.88 Ga. READ MORE

  3. 3. Paleoproterozoic deformation in the Kiruna‑Gällivare area in northern Norrbotten, Sweden : Setting, character, age, and control of iron oxide-apatite deposits

    Author : Joel Andersson; Tobias Bauer; Olof Martinsson; Nicholas Oliver; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Kiruna; Gällivare; structural geology; Paleoproterozoic; deformation; Malmgeologi; Ore Geology;

    Abstract : This thesis covers the structural evolution of the Kiruna‑Gällivare area in the northern Norrbotten ore province, Sweden. The study area hosts several economically significant iron oxide-apatite (IOA) deposits and includes the type locality for this ore type. READ MORE

  4. 4. Parameters Controlling Distribution of Diagenetic Alterations within Fluvial and Shallow Marine Sandstone Reservoirs : Evidence from the Libyan Basins

    Author : Muftah Khalifa; Hemin Koyi; Joao Marcelo Medina Ketzer; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Diagenesis; Structural setting; Depositional facies; Basin thermal history; Ther- mal Hot basinal brines; Fluid inclusions; Raman Spectrometry; Stylolites; Hydro-carbon migration; Geovetenskap med inriktning mot mineralogi; petrologi och tektonik; Earth Science with specialization in Mineral Chemistry; Petrology and Tectonics;

    Abstract : This thesis demonstrates that geological setting, depositional facies, open system flux of hot basinal brines and descending of shallow waters have a strong impact on the distribution of the diagenetic alterations within continental and paralic/shallow marine sandstones which in turn control the quality and heterogeneities of the reservoirs.Geological setting controls the mineralogical and textural maturity of sandstone, whereas depositional facies control the pore water chemistry (marine, brackish or meteoric), sedimentary texture and sand body geometry. 5. 5. Structural Reformulations in System Identification

    Author : Christian Lyzell; Martin Enqvist; Lennart Ljung; Alessandro Chiuso; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; System identification; Dimension reduction; Subspace identification; Difference algebra;

    Abstract : In system identification, the choice of model structure is important and it is sometimes desirable to use a flexible model structure that is able to approximate a wide range of systems. One such model structure is the Wiener class of systems, that is, systems where the input enters a linear time-invariant subsystem followed by a time-invariant nonlinearity. READ MORE
