2. CarcinoEmbryonic Antigen-related Cell Adhesion Molecule 8 (CEACAM8) : Purification, Characterization, Cellular and Clinical Studies
Abstract : A 95-kDa protein was purified from normal human granulocytes. The protein reacted with a monoclonal antibody against CEACAM8. MALDI-Tof and MS/MS analyses revealed the protein to be a CGM6 gene product. Thus, the protein was proved to be identical to CEACAM8. READ MORE

3. Xenobiotic-metabolizing enzymes and enzymes involved in the metabolism of reactive oxygen species in the porcine ovary : subcellular distributions and levels of expression during follicular maturation and in the non-pregnant and pregnant corpus luteum
Abstract : The polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) 7,12-dimethylbenz(a)anthracene (DMBA) is metabolized by both porcine ovarian microsomes and mitochondria, with the highest activity being seen in the corpus luteum. Microsomal DMBA monooxygenase activity is inhibited by inhibitors of the CYP450 system and by 17-bestradiol, thus indicating involvement of CYP1B1. READ MORE

4. Studies on glycosphingolipids in regenerative medicine
Abstract : Regenerative medicine, including stem cell based therapies and xenotransplantation, is a new and developing field that aims to restore normal function in end stage cell/organ failure. However, in therapeutic settings involving transfer of cells with a different genetic background, these cells will expose the recipient to non-self cell surface antigenic determinants that may evoke an immune response and subsequent graft damage. 5. Adrenergic receptors in brown adipose tissue
Abstract : The purpose of this study was to identify adrenergic receptors and to investigate their regulation of physiological processes in brown adipose tissue.Isolated hamster brown fat cells and plasma membrane fractions contained a high number of α1- and β1-adrenergic receptors, as assessed by direct radioligand binding techniques using (3H)prazosin and (-)(3H)dihydroalprenolol, respectively.
