11. InAs/AlSb HEMTs for Cryogenic Low-Noise Applications
Abstract : The InAs/AlSb high electron mobility transistor (HEMT) is an emerging microwave device technology. The high electron mobility and high peak electron velocity of the InAs channel makes this device technology a potential candidate for low-noise applications operating at very low power dissipation. 12. Modelling, Analysis and Design of RF Mixed-Signal Mixer for Wireless Communications
Abstract : The explosive growth of the market for wirelesscommunications is driving low cost, highly integrated designsand complex RF/analog mixed-signal integrated circuit (RF AMSIC) products. RF transceiver application is one of the mostimportant wireless applications. READ MORE

13. Microwave characterisation of electrodes and field effect transistors based on graphene
Abstract : The isolation of the two-dimensional material graphene, a single hexagonal sheet of carbon atoms, is believed to trigger a revolution in electronics. Theory predicts unprecedented carrier velocities in ideal graphene, from which ultrahigh speed graphene field effect transistors (GFETs) are envisioned. READ MORE

14. On the influence of surface roughness on rolling contact forces
Abstract : Road vehicle tyres, railway wheels and ball bearings all generate rolling contact forces which are transferred within a finite area of contact between the rolling element and the substrate. Either it is visible or not for the human eye, a certain degree of roughness is always present on the contacting surfaces and it influences the generation of both vertical and lateral contactforces. 15. Study of MgB2 and YBa2Cu3O7-x Microbolometers for THz Sensing Applications
Abstract : In this thesis, two novel THz detectors based on magnesium diboride (MgB2)and yttrium barium copper oxide (YBa2Cu3O7-x) are presented. In particular,MgB2 superconductor is used for the investigation of hot-electron bolometer(HEB) mixers, while YBa2Cu3O7-x is explored in microbolometers for room-temperaturecoherent and incoherent detection.
