  1. 1. Characterisation of CtBP : A Co-Repressor of Transcription that Interacts with the Adenovirus E1A Protein

    Author : Anders Sundqvist; Anthony Wright; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Biochemistry; CtBP; HDAC; adenovirus; E1A; gene expression; repression; Biokemi; Biochemistry; Biokemi; Medical Virology; medicinsk virologi;

    Abstract : In this study, adenovirus E1A has been used to target and analyse the transcriptional function of the cellular C-terminal Binding Protein (CtBP).Transcription is a complex biochemical process that represents a major regulatory step in gene expression. READ MORE

  2. 2. Juvenile myoclonic epilepsy : clinical, genetic, clinical pharmacological, and neurophysiological studies

    Author : Anders Sundqvist; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : epilepsy; juvenile myoclonic epilepsy; idiopathic generalised epilepsy; differential diagnosis; genetics; linkage; valproic acid; pharmacokinetics; treatment; drug monitoring; EEG; neurophysiology; neuropsychology. Printed in Sweden by Repro Print; ;

    Abstract : Juvenile myoclonic epilepsy (JME) has been considered to be a discrete phenotype. Evidence from segregation analysis and twin studies suggest that JME is a genetically determined disease, and two previous linkage studies of separately ascertained kindreds have suggested that a JME locus, EJM 1, resides on chromosome 6p close to the HLA region. 3. 3. Prevention, incidence, and survival of cervical cancer in Sweden

    Author : Avalon Sundqvist; Lund Obstetrik och gynekologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cervical cancer; Human papillomavirus; Screening; Self-sampling; Incidence; Net survival;

    Abstract : Cervical cancer is preventable by screening. In 1967, Sweden introduced a cervical screening program. Screening for high-risk human papillomavirus (hr-HPV), the causative factor of cervical cancer, is more sensitive than cytology and can be performed as a self-sample. Non-attendance to screening is a large risk factor for cervical cancer. READ MORE

  4. 4. Colour changes and acid formation in wood during heating

    Author : Bror Sundqvist; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Wood Physics; Träfysik;

    Abstract : Heating wood has since ancient times been a method to dry and modify its properties. Nowadays heat is used in industrial processes for the same reasons. Treatment at temperatures above 150ºC can change the colour, improve resistance to biodegradation and enhance dimensional stability. READ MORE
