  1. 1. Multicomponent superconductivity Vortex matter and phase transitions

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH Royal Institute of Technology

    Author : Johan Carlström; KTH.; [2013]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Superconductivity; Ginzburg Landau; field theory; Iron pnictide;

    Abstract : The topic of this thesis is vortex-physics in multi component Ginzburg- Landau models. These models describe a newly discovered class of super- conductors with multiple superconducting gaps, and possess many properties that set them apart from single component models. READ MORE

  2. 2. Mesoscopic superconductivity quasiclassical approach

    University dissertation from Umeå : Umeå universitet

    Author : Marek Ožana; Umeå universitet.; [2001]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; mesoscopic superconductivity; quasiclassical theory; boundary conditions; multi-layer structures; Gor kov equations; quasiclassical Green s function; Green s function on classical trajectories;

    Abstract : This Thesis is concerned with the quasiclassical theory of meso-scopic superconductivity. The aim of the Thesis is to introduce the boundary conditions for a quasiclassical Green’s function on partially transparent interfaces in mesoscopic superconducting structures and to analyze the range of applicability of the quasiclassical theory. 3. 3. Superconductivity in the presence pf magnetic steps

    University dissertation from Mathematics Centre for Mathematical Sciences Lund University Lund

    Author : Wafaa Assaad; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2019]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Ginzburg-Landau theory; Schrodinger operators with magnetic fields; Superconductivity; spectral theory; PDE; quantum mechanics;

    Abstract : This thesis investigates the distribution of superconductivity in a Type-II planar, bounded, and smooth superconductor submitted to a piecewise-constant magnetic field with a jump discontinuity along smooth curves---the magnetic edge. This discontinuous case has not been treated before in the mathematics literature, where the considered applied magnetic field is usually assumed to be smooth. READ MORE

  4. 4. Nanocalorimetry of electronic phase transitions in systems with unconventional superconductivity and magnetic ordering

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Department of Physics, Stockholm University

    Author : Donato Campanini; Stockholms universitet.; [2015]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nanocalorimetry; Superconductivity; Magnetism; Electronic phase transitions; materiefysik; Physics Of Matter; Physics; fysik;

    Abstract : In this thesis, low temperature specific heat measurements on small (μg) single crystals of different superconducting and magnetic systems are presented. The device used in this work features a combination of high sensitivity and good accuracy over the temperature range 1-400 K and allows measurements in high magnetic fields. READ MORE

  5. 5. Phase transitions in high-temperature superconductors

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH

    Author : Jack Lidmar; KTH.; [1998]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Superconductivity; Vortices; Phase transitions; Strongly correlated fermions; High-temperature superconductivity; Monte Carlo simulations.; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : Thermal fluctuations and disorder strongly influence the behaviour of hightemperature superconductors. In particular the vortices play a key role in determining their properties. In this thesis the main focus lies on phase transitions, both in ultra-thin films and in three-dimensional systems, which are driven by vortex fluctuations. READ MORE
