   Abstract : Interleukin-1 (IL-1) is mediating diverse physiological conditions as inflammatory response, fever and sickness behaviour but also, via activation of the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal (HPA)-axis, the release of the anti-inflammatory adrenocorticoids.
