1. Unveiling Catalytic Species in Suspension/Solution-Based Reactions by In Situ X-Ray Absorption Spectroscopy : Evolution of Palladium and Ruthenium Species
Abstract : The palladium (Pd) and ruthenium (Ru) species in several attractive catalysts have been probed using X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS). The study of catalyst evolution in suspension- and solution-based reactions was the primary aim. It was achieved by performing in situ XAS experiments on Pd and Ru over the course of the reactions. 2. Target-driven road vehicle suspension design
Abstract : This thesis is focused on suspension hardpoint and bushing compliance design with new reverse engineering methods that are based on kinematics and compliance constraints. The kinematic reverse design method is implemented into a conceptual front axle development. The results show that, using this method, the design lead time is reduced by half. READ MORE

3. Vehicle Disc Brake Roughness Noise : Experimental Study of the Interior Noise andVibro-Acoustic Modelling of Suspension Systems
Abstract : Prediction of vehicle disc brake roughness noise is a non-trivial challenge. In fact, neither the source mechanisms, nor the transfer paths are so far well understood. READ MORE

4. Keratinocytes and Adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells : The heir and the spare to regenerative cellular therapies for difficult-to-heal skin wounds
Abstract : Cell-based therapy is considered as Advanced Therapy Medicinal Product, (ATMP), which had increasingly stricter regulations in the last decade. The cells must be produced according to the ‘Guidelines on Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) specific to Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products’, adopted by the European Medicines Agency (EMA). 5. Design of Suspension Plasma Sprayed Thermal Barrier Coatings
Abstract : Thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) are widely used on gas turbine components to provide thermal insulation, which in combination with advanced cooling, can enable the gas turbine to operate at significantly higher temperatures even above the melting temperature of the metallic components. There is a permanent need, mainly due to environmental reasons, to increase the combustion temperature inturbines, hence new TBC solutions are needed. READ MORE
