1. Response of human skeletal muscle to chronic and acute exercise and ischemia : muscle dimensions, tissue water and blood flow as measured by magnetic resonance imaging and comparative methods
Abstract : The aim of this study was to investigate the response of human skeletal muscle to exercise, training and ischemi and to evaluate if magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) could be used to measure regional muscle cross-sectional area, muscle perfusion and detect muscle ischemia in patients with intermittent claudication. For this purpose studies were performed on 29 healthy young volunteers and 7 patients with intermittent claudication. READ MORE

2. Phase-field modeling of stress-induced precipitation and kinetics in engineering metals
Abstract : The formation of brittle compounds in metals operating in corrosive environments can be a tremendous source of embrittlement for industrial structures and such phenomenon is commonly enhanced in presence of stresses. To study this type of microstructural change modeling is preferred to experiment to reduce costs and prevent undesirable environmental impacts. READ MORE

4. Atomic Influences in Stellar Spectroscopy
Abstract : This thesis is a description of how knowledge of atomic physics can be used in a stellar spectrum analysis. Stellar investigations are spectroscopically performed based on wavelengths, intensities and spectral line structure. READ MORE
