  1. 1. Shb and Its Homologues: Signaling in T Lymphocytes and Fibroblasts

    Author : Cecilia Lindholm; Hamid Band; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cell biology; Shb; T cell receptor; IL-2 receptor; PDGF receptor; cell signaling; adapter proteins; LAT; Vav; PLC-g1; SLP-76; JAK1; JAK3; Jurkat cells; T cells; NK cells; Apoptosis.; Cellbiologi; Cell biology; Cellbiologi; medicinsk cellbiologi; Medical Cell Biology;

    Abstract : Stimulation of the T cell receptor (TCR) induces tyrosine phosphorylation of numerous intracellular proteins, leading to activation of the interleukin-2 (IL-2) gene in T lymphocytes. Shb is a ubiquitously expressed adapter protein, with the ability to associate with the T cell receptor and several signaling proteins in T cells, including: the TCR ζ-chain, LAT, PLC-γ1, Vav, SLP-76 and Gads. 2. 2. Cholesterol in T cells : homeostasis, plasma membrane organization and signaling

    Author : Saleemulla Mahammad; Ingela Parmryd; Thomas Harder; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Plasma membrane; T cells; Cholesterol; Lipid rafts; Membrane organization; Cholesterol homeostasis; cholesteryl esters; Cell biology; Cellbiologi; Cell Biology; cellbiologi;

    Abstract : The plasma membrane of eukaryotic cells contains cholesterol and glycosphingolipids enriched nanodomains known as lipid rafts; which are believed to exist in a liquid ordered (lo) state. Methyl-beta-cyclodextrin (MBCD) is used to deplete cellular cholesterol and a widespread assumption is that MBCD preferentially targets cholesterol in lipid rafts. READ MORE

  3. 3. Consequences of Shb Deficiency on Hematopoietic Cell Function

    Author : Karin Gustafsson; Michael Welsh; Martin Bergö; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; hematopoiesis; hematopoietic stem cells; myeloid neoplasia; T cells; atopic dermatitis; cell signaling; Medical Cell Biology; Medicinsk cellbiologi;

    Abstract : The adaptor protein Shb has been implicated in the signaling of several tyrosine kinase receptors and previous studies have suggested a role for Shb in the signal transduction of T cells. Shb associates with the T cell receptor (TCR) and partakes in the signal propagation of activated T lymphocytes. READ MORE

  4. 4. The role of protein kinases in development and disease

    Author : Renée Daams; Avdelningen för translationell cancerforskning; []

  5. 5. Rewiring ret : PTB-adaptor regulated signaling and cell biology

    Author : T Kalle Lundgren; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The Ret receptor belongs to a group of transmembrane tyrosine kinase receptors that serve to transduce environmental signals into cellular responses. Upon extracellular ligand activation the receptors dimerize and their structural conformation is altered into one that allows for interaction with proteins in the cell cytosol. READ MORE
