  1. 1. Regulatory mechanisms controlling T cell activity

    Author : Anette Sundstedt; Institutionen för experimentell medicinsk vetenskap; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; transplantation; T cell superantigen anergy interleukin-2 transcription factor cytotoxicity; serology; Immunology; Immunologi; serologi;

    Abstract : This thesis is based on work studying the immunoregulatory mechanisms that govern the balance between activation and inactivation of T lymphocytes. Most of the work has been carried out in an experimental system using a T cell receptor (TCR-Vb3) transgenic mouse strain to obtain a homogenous T-cell population and utilizing the properties of bacterial superantigens to induce T cell responses and unresponsiveness in vivo. 2. 2. T cell Function in Patients with Dilated Cardiomyopathy

    Author : Erika Lindberg; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : cardiomyopathy; lymphocytes; cytokines; autoimmunity; infection;

    Abstract : Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) is a heart muscle disease characterized by dilatation of one or both ventricles together with decreased systolic function. Its etiology is still largely unknown. READ MORE

  3. 3. Regulation of T cell effector functions in the intestinal mucosa

    Author : Petra Holmkvist; Slemhinnans immunologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; T cells; memory; intestine; cytokines; differentiation; IL-18; inflammation; antigen presentation;

    Abstract : T lymphocytes are a critical cellular component of the adaptive immune response. They are generated in the thymus from bone marrow derived progenitors, where they undergo commitment to the T cell lineage and differentiate and mature into naïve CD4+ and CD8+ T cells. READ MORE

  4. 4. Modulation of cytokine production by mononuclear cells in allergic inflammation. The effects of allergen exposure and anti-inflammatory agents

    Author : Katarzyna Wosinska-Becler; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; cytokines; seasonal allergy; kinetics; CysLTR1 antagonist; montelukast; rush immunotherapy; monocyte; basophil; eosinophil; NK cell; T cell;

    Abstract : In pollen-sensitized subjects, seasonal allergen exposure results in clinical allergic disease, which in affected tissues displays a morphological picture typical of chronic inflammation. The cellular responses to allergens include the production of inflammatory cytokines that can be examined in peripheral blood cells. READ MORE

  5. 5. Improvement of adoptive T-cell therapy for Cancer

    Author : Chuan Jin; Magnus Essand; Ola Winqvist; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; CAR T-cell therapy; AEP expansion protocol; scaffold matrix attachment region; non-integrating lentivirus; H. pylori Neutrophil-activating protein; allogeneic DCs; Klinisk immunologi; Clinical Immunology;

    Abstract : Cancer immunotherapy has recently made remarkable clinical progress. Adoptive transfer of T-cells engineered with a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) against CD19 has been successful in treatment of B-cell leukemia. READ MORE
