  1. 16. Shb and Its Homologues: Signaling in T Lymphocytes and Fibroblasts

    Author : Cecilia Lindholm; Hamid Band; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cell biology; Shb; T cell receptor; IL-2 receptor; PDGF receptor; cell signaling; adapter proteins; LAT; Vav; PLC-g1; SLP-76; JAK1; JAK3; Jurkat cells; T cells; NK cells; Apoptosis.; Cellbiologi; Cell biology; Cellbiologi; medicinsk cellbiologi; Medical Cell Biology;

    Abstract : Stimulation of the T cell receptor (TCR) induces tyrosine phosphorylation of numerous intracellular proteins, leading to activation of the interleukin-2 (IL-2) gene in T lymphocytes. Shb is a ubiquitously expressed adapter protein, with the ability to associate with the T cell receptor and several signaling proteins in T cells, including: the TCR ζ-chain, LAT, PLC-γ1, Vav, SLP-76 and Gads. 2. 17. Investigating histidine-rich glycoprotein and T cell-specific adaptor as potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets

    Author : Tor Persson Skare; Lena Claesson-Welsh; Mats Hellström; Elin Sjöberg; Jonas Fuxe; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Histidine-rich glycoprotein; T cell-specifik adaptor; Lymphoma; Glioblastoma; Vascular permeability;

    Abstract : The endothelial cell (EC), the most important cell type in blood vessels, lines the vessel wall and provides vessel integrity. EC function is tightly regulated, and its dysregulation is a key element in many diseases including cardiovascular disease, cancer and several diseases of the eye. READ MORE

  3. 18. T Cell recruitment in human Helicobacter pylori associated diseases

    Author : Karin Enarsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection is associated with pronounced infiltration of granulocytes and lymphocytes into the gastric mucosa, resulting in active chronic gastritis that may develop into duodenal ulcer disease or gastric adenocarcinoma (GC). Infiltrating T cells play a major role in the pathology of these diseases, but the signals involved in recruitment of T cells from blood to H. READ MORE

  4. 19. T cell signatures and modulation by regulatory T cells

    Author : Rubin Narayan Joshi; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : CD4 T cells are crucial coordinators of protective immune responses against microbes and tumors. However, immune responses misdirected towards self-antigens are the hallmarks of autoimmune diseases. Regulatory T cells (Tregs) maintain peripheral immune tolerance, mainly by suppressing effector T cells. READ MORE

  5. 20. Genetic Characterization of Pediatric T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

    Author : Kristina Karrman; Avdelningen för klinisk genetik; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; leukmia; genetic characterization; pediatric;

    Abstract : The aim of my thesis has been to characterize genetically pediatric T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL). Articles I and II focus on molecular characterization of translocations involving T-cell receptor (TCR) loci. READ MORE
