1. Fundamental Limits in Wireless Wideband Networking
Abstract : The rapid growth of the wireless communication industry recently does not only bring opportunities but also challenges on developing radio technologies and solutions that can support high data rate as well as reliable and efficient communications. Two fundamental factors that limit the transmission rate are the available transmit energy and the available bandwidth. READ MORE

2. Efficient Integrated Circuits for Wideband Wireless Transceivers
Abstract : The proliferation of portable communication devices combined with the relentless demand for higher data rates has spurred the development of wireless communication standards which can support wide signal bandwidths. Benefits of the complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) process such as high device speeds and low manufacturing cost have rendered it the technology of choice for implementing wideband wireless transceiver integrated circuits (ICs). 3. MOCVD growth of GaN-based high electron mobility transistor structures
Abstract : The present work was to improve the overall quality of GaN-based high electron mobility transistor (HEMT) epitaxial structures grown on semi-insulating (SI) SiC and native GaN substrates, using an approach called bottom-to-top optimization. The bottom-to-top optimization means an entire growth process optimization, from in-situ substrate pretreatment to the epitaxial growth and then the cooling process. READ MORE

4. Surface characterization and manipulation of polyampholytic hydrogel coatings
Abstract : This thesis is dedicated to building up fundamental knowledge about polyampholytic hydrogels, which are developed in our group for anti-fouling purposes. Charge-balanced polymers, where positive and negative charges balance each other, have emerged as interesting candidates for many applications in materials science. READ MORE
