  1. 1. Polyelectrolyte Complexes : Their Characterization and use for Modification of Wood Fibre Surfaces

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH

    Author : Linda Gärdlund; Mittuniversitetet.; KTH.; [2006]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TECHNOLOGY Chemical engineering; TEKNIKVETENSKAP Kemiteknik; Cellulosa- och pappersteknik; TECHNOLOGY Chemical engineering Chemical process and manufacturing engineering Cellulose and paper engineering; TEKNIKVETENSKAP Kemiteknik Kemisk process- och produktionsteknik Cellulosa- och pappersteknik;

    Abstract : For economical reasons filler particles and less expensive fibre raw materials are more frequently used in papermaking. This influences the mechanical properties of the formed papers in a negative way and it is therefore necessary to add strength-enhancing agents to the papermaking furnish. READ MORE

  2. 2. Fibre/fibre joints : Their characterization and influence on different paper strength properties

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH

    Author : Annsofie Torgnysdotter; Mittuniversitetet.; KTH.; [2006]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TECHNOLOGY Chemical engineering; TEKNIKVETENSKAP Kemiteknik; TECHNOLOGY Chemical engineering Chemical process and manufacturing engineering Cellulose and paper engineering; TEKNIKVETENSKAP Kemiteknik Kemisk process- och produktionsteknik Cellulosa- och pappersteknik;

    Abstract : The main goal of this work was to gain knowledge of how to process the fibres for a certain enduse purpose. To reach this knowledge it must be clarified how different fibre properties, mechanical and chemical as well as surface and bulk properties, will influence the physical properties of the formed paper. 3. 3. Laboratory method for the study of moisture-induced waviness in paper

    University dissertation from Karlstads universitet : Karlstad

    Author : Cecilia Land; Karlstads universitet.; [2004]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TECHNOLOGY Chemical engineering Chemical process and manufacturing engineering Cellulose and paper engineering; TEKNIKVETENSKAP Kemiteknik Kemisk process- och produktionsteknik Cellulosa- och pappersteknik; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik; method; moisture; paper; paper web; wavelength; waviness;

    Abstract : Paper that is subjected to moisture undergoes dimensional changes. It expands during moistening and shrinks during drying. When the paper is under tension between rollers, the effects are complex since shrinkage and expansion are restricted in the width direction. Waves can then appear on the paper web. READ MORE

  4. 4. ATMP Process Improved Energy Efficiency in TMP Refining Utilizing Selective Wood Disintegration and Targeted Application of Chemicals

    University dissertation from Sundsvall : Mid Sweden University
