21. Promoter Engineering for Cyanobacteria : An Essential Step
Abstract : Synthetic biology views a complex biological system as an ensemble in the hierarchy of parts, devices, systems, and networks. The practice of using engineering rules such as decoupling and standardization to understand, predict, and re-build novel biological functions from model-driven designed genetic circuits is emphasized. 22. Computational study of Polymerization, Crystallization and Mechanical Properties of Conducting Polymers
Abstract : Nowadays, electronic devices that include conducting polymers, ranging from batteries and OLED panel for TVs and smartphones to bioelectronics devices such as sensors and ion-pumps for drug-delivery are widely used in our life. The use of conducting polymer in many electronic applications was driven by demand for light weight, flexibility or biocompatibility with the performance on pair with conventional inorganic counterparts. 23. Expression of recombinant neutralizing anti-HIV-1 antibodies in bacteria and eukaryotic cells
Abstract : The main purpose of this study was to investigate and optimize techniques for eukaryotic expression of antibody molecules (IgG, Fab and scFV-ê formats), derived from an immune phage displayed Fab library and reactive against HIV-1 glycoproteins gp120 and gp41. Light and heavy-chain (Fd) DNA from a number of Fab clones were transferred from a prokaryotic phagemid vectors to mammalian expression vectors. READ MORE

24. Roles of Myc and Mad in cell cycle and apoptosis
Abstract : The Myc network proteins are key mediators in regulation of cell growth, differentiation and apoptosis. They are basic region hehx-loop-helix/leucine zipper (bHLH/Zip) transcription factors that require hetero-dimerization with Max for specific DNA binding Mad family members are expressed primarily in differentiated tissues where they recruit histone deacetylase complexes via the mSin3 interaction domain (SID) to repress transcription of target genes and prevent cell growth In contrast, members of the Myc family activate target gene transcription by recruitment of histone acetyltransferases to their transcriptional activation domain (TAD), inducing proliferation and S phase entry. 25. Serological classification and genetic characterization of clinical isolates of Neisseria gonorrhoeae
Abstract : Neisseria gonorrhoeae is the etiologic agent of gonorrhoea, one of the oldest and most widespread of human infections. The development of methods to characterize the bacterium is of central importance in the control of the disease. One aim of this thesis was to evaluate serotyping of N. READ MORE
