1. Monitoring of neuroendocrine tumor patients undergoing systemic therapies
Abstract : Monitoring of neuroendocrine tumor (NET) patients undergoing systemic therapies is troublesome as biomarkers capable of detecting tumor responses have been difficult to establish. Changes in the sum of target lesion diameters are used to evaluate the effects of therapy according to the response evaluation criteria in solid tumors (RECIST 1.1). READ MORE

2. Effects of ionising and non-ionising radiation in cell systems and a rat model for immuno-therapy
Abstract : The most malignant brain tumour, glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), has an utterly bad prognosis. In spite of all available therapy, the mean survival time is less than a year. In the unique BRIGTT project (Brain Immuno Gene Tumour Therapy), patients at the Dept of Neurosurgery. READ MORE

3. Expression of thioredoxin reductase 1 in mammalian cells with regulation by the core promoter and use of alternative splice variants
Abstract : Reactive oxygen species are generated in cells as by-products of aerobic metabolism. To protect from damaging effects the cells possess several antioxidant systems and one of the most important is the thioredoxin system. READ MORE

4. Identification and characterization of small molecules targeting MYC function
Abstract : The MYC family genes (c-, N- and L-MYC) encode potent oncoproteins/transcription factors regulating fundamental cellular processes involved in cell proliferation, metabolism and survival, and they play an important role in tumor development. Overexpression of MYC often induce apoptosis as a failsafe mechanism to prevent tumor development and it is known to sensitize cells to genotoxic agents that induce DNA damage by triggered apoptosis.
