  1. 1. Two topics in cryptography : lattice problems and the security of protocols

    Author : Mårten Trolin; Johan Håstad; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Datalogi; Datalogi; Computer science; Datalogi;

    Abstract : In this thesis we present new results in two areas – cryptographic protocols and lattice problems. • We present a new protocol for electronic cash which is designed to function on hardware with limited computing power. The scheme has provable security properties and low computational requirements, but it still gives a fair amount of privacy. READ MORE

  2. 2. Information, Security, Privacy, and Anonymity : Definitional and Conceptual Issues

    Author : Björn Lundgren; Niklas Möller; Sven Ove Hansson; Kevin Macnish; KTH; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; definitions; distinctions; conceptual analysis; philosophy of information; philosophy of risk; security; information; information security; semantics; semantic information; veridicality thesis; informativity; appropriate access; CIA; privacy; control; context; pro tanto good; social relations; anonymity; deanonymization; ability to be anonymous; Filosofi; Philosophy;

    Abstract : This doctoral thesis consists of five research papers that address four tangential topics, all of which are relevant for the challenges we are facing in our socio-technical society: information, security, privacy, and anonymity. All topics are approached by similar methods, i.e. with a concern about conceptual and definitional issues. READ MORE

  3. 3. Semantic Information and Information Security : Definitional Issues

    Abstract : This licentiate thesis consist of two separate research papers which concern two tangential topics – that of semantic information and that of information security. Both topics are approached by similar methods, i.e. with a concern about conceptual and definitional issues. READ MORE

  4. 4. Dynamic Security Region Assessment

    Author : Marina Oluic; Mehrdad Ghandari; Bertil Berggren; Jovica V. Milanovic; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; parametrization; power system transient stability; security boundary; short-term voltage instability; Voltage Impasse Region VIR ; parametrisering; spänningsimpassregion VIR ; spänningsinstabilitet; säkerhetsgräns; transient stabilitet i kraftsystem; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : Among a wide variety of topics that are covered by Dynamic Security Assessment (DSA), maintaining synchronous operation and acceptable voltage profiles stand out. These two stability categories are mostly jeopardized in the seconds after a large contingency occurs. READ MORE

  5. 5. Redundancy and the Swedish model : Swedish collective agreements on employment security in a national and international context

    Author : Gabriella Sebardt; Ronnie Eklund; Silvana Sciarra; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Labour law; redundancy; employment security; collective agreement; labour market policy; severance compensation; transition support; comparative law; Labour law; Arbetsrätt;

    Abstract : The dominant position of the employment perspective in Swedish labour law has resulted in a focus on the creation of protection against arbitrary dismissals and the reward for long and faithful service. In contrast to other industrialised countries, there is no financial protection in situations of redundancy (e.g. READ MORE
