  1. 1. Internet Video Transmission

    Author : György Dan; Gunnar Karlsson; Viktória Fodor; Jean-Yves Le Boudec; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Traffic control; MDC; FEC; Multicast streaming; Queuing theory; Telecommunication; Telekommunikation;

    Abstract : The Internet has rapidly evolved from being a scientific experiment to a commercial network connecting millions of hosts that carries traffic generated by a large amount of applications with diverse requirements. Its architecture was however designed to enable efficient point-to-point delivery of bulk data, and can not provide statistical guarantees on the timely delivery of delay sensitive data such as streaming and real-time multimedia. 2. 2. TRANSMISSION AND PATHOGENESIS OF HANTAVIRUS

    Author : Lisa Pettersson; Magnus Evander; Clas Ahlm; Annika Allard; Tatjana Avšič - Županc; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : Puumala virus; Hantavirus; human-to-human transmission; saliva; nephropathia epidemica; NE; IgA; IgG; IgM; neutrophils; neutrophil; viremia; treatment; climate; snow cover; temperature.; medicinsk virologi; Medical Virology;

    Abstract : Hantaviruses are the causative agents of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) in Eurasia, and of hantavirus cardiopulmonary syndrome (HCPS) in the Americas. Transmission to humans usually occurs by inhalation of aerosolized virus-contaminated rodent excreta. READ MORE

    Abstract : Semiconductor nanowires are studied by using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) based methods in this work. In the first section, the growth mechanism of gallium arsenide nanowires grown by chemical beam epitaxy is investigated. The nanowires are epitaxially grown from a gallium arsenide substrate by using gold seed particles as catalysts. READ MORE

  4. 4. Gearbox noise : Correlation with transmission error and influence of bearing preload

    Author : Mats Åkerblom; Sören Andersson; D. Houser; KTH; []
    Keywords : gear; gearbox; noise; vibration; transmission error; bearing preload; Mechanical engineering; Maskinteknik;

    Abstract : The five appended papers all deal with gearbox noise and vibration. The first paper presents a review of previously published literature on gearbox noise and vibration. The second paper describes a test rig that was specially designed and built for noise testing of gears. READ MORE

  5. 5. Transmission loss of vehicle seals

    Author : Qi Li; Leping Feng; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; vehicle seals; reverberation room test; contact analysis; simple model; mass law; FEM analysis; distorted circular duct model; Acoustics; Akustik;

    Abstract : Sound transmission loss of vehicle seals was studied in this thesis. Reverberation room test and semi-anechoic chamber test were respectively studied. READ MORE
