    Abstract : Listen. If I ask you to listen, what is it that I ask of you—that you will understand, or perhaps obey? Or is it some sort of readiness that is requested? What occurs with a body in the act of listening? How do sound and voice structure audio-visual-spatial relations in concrete situations?This doctoral thesis in fine arts consists of six artworks and an essay that documents the research process, or rather, acts as a travelogue as it stages and narrates a series of journeys into a predominantly sonic ecology. 2. 2. From Customer Satisfaction to Citizen Interaction : a cooperation model for community development based on Total Quality Management

    Author : Maria Fredriksson; Bengt Klefsjö; Lars Carlsson; Johnny Lindström; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Kvalitetsteknik;

    Abstract : Current problems with unemployment and the consequences of cut-down in the public sector need appropriate solutions, where private citizens perhaps take on more active roles than today, individually or in groups. The aim with this doctoral thesis is to contribute to one such solution, which is a cooperation model for societal development in local communities, based on Total Quality Management (TQM) and on the participation of many residents.     Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik;

    Abstract : As part of realizing national and European climate ambitions, it is imperative to bring about increased energy efficiency and consumption flexibility in the residential sector of the Swedish power market. In addition to governmental policy instruments to this end, market-based measures play an important role in making behavioral change in domestic electricity use happen. READ MORE

  4. 4. A multi-objective evolutionary approach to simulation-based optimisation of real-world problems

  5. 5. On wear in rolling/sliding contacts

    Author : Rickard Nilsson; Ulf Olofsson; I. Sherrington; KTH; []
    Keywords : Technology; wear; rolling; sliding; contact; environment; TEKNIKVETENSKAP; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : The aim of this thesis is to increase the understanding of wear in rolling/sliding contacts such as the wheel-rail contact for railroads and the roller-washer contact for roller bearings. The Stockholm commuter train network has been the subject of papers A and B in this thesis in which the wear and surface cracks on rails has been observed for a period of three years. READ MORE
