22. High Temperature Corrosion of FeCrAl Alloys in Biomass- and Waste-fired Boilers - The Influence of Alloying Elements in Prediction and Mitigation of Corrosion in Harsh Environments
Abstract : Combustion of biomass and waste for heat and power production is an alternative to fossil fuels and can be an important step towards a more sustainable future. The electrical efficiency of the fuel-to-energy conversion process is largely dependent on the steam parameters (temperature and pressure) of the combined heat and power (CHP) plants. READ MORE

23. Material Solutions for Mitigating High Temperature Corrosion in Biomass- and Waste-fired Boilers - Utilizing Novel FeCrAl Alloys and HVAF-sprayed Ni-based Coatings
Abstract : Combustion of biomass and waste for heat and electricity production is a promising alternative to fossil fuels and is thereby an important step towards a more sustainable future. However, due to substantial amounts of alkali- and chlorine-containing species as well as moisture in biomass and waste, the combustion of these results in a highly corrosive environment which accelerates the degradation of steel components in the boiler, drastically increasing the maintenance costs. 24. Development of a ferritic ductile cast iron for improved life in exhaust applications
Abstract : Due to coming emission legislations, the temperature is expected to increase in heavy-duty diesel engines, specifically in the hot-end of the exhaust system affecting components, such as exhaust- and turbo manifolds. Since the current material in the turbo manifold, a ductile cast iron named SiMo51, is operating close to its limits there is a need for material development in order to maintain a high durability of these components. 25. Atom probe tomography of Zircaloy-2 exposed to boiling water reactor operation
Abstract : Zirconium alloys are used as cladding tubes for the fuel in nuclear reactors. In boiling water reactors (BWRs), the alloy Zircaloy-2, which contains the alloying elements Sn, Fe, Cr, Ni, and O, is commonly used. READ MORE
