  1. 1. Mesostructured materials : Synthesis towards applications

    Author : Nina Andersson; Osamu Terasaki; Peter Alberius; Anders Palmqvist; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi; oorganisk kemi; Inorganic Chemistry;

    Abstract : A new class of materials with well-defined structures on mesoscopic (2-50 nm) length scales has attracted considerable interest during the last decade. These mesostructured mataterials are formed from the self-assembly of amphiphillic molecules and inorganic precursors. READ MORE

  2. 2. Open-Framework Germanates : Crystallography, structures and cluster building units

    Author : Kirsten Elvira Christensen; Xiaodong Zou; Osamu Terasaki; Angeles Monge; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; germanate; crystallography; building unit; zeotype; scale chemistry; Chemistry; Kemi; strukturkemi; Structural Chemistry;

    Abstract : This thesis is focussing on the crystallographic challenges and what knowledge we can gain from studying the different open-framework germanates. Five new open-framework germanates have been synthesized and the structures have been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. READ MORE

  3. 3. Formation mechanism of anionic-surfactant-templated mesoporous silica (AMS)

    Author : Chuanbo Gao; Osamu Terasaki; Anders Palmqvist; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; mesoporous silica; anionic surfactant; formation mechanism; structural control; Chemistry; Kemi; Structural Chemistry; strukturkemi;

    Abstract : This dissertation is focused on synthesis, characterization and formation mechanism of anionic-surfactant-templated mesoporous silica (AMS). Structural control mechanisms of AMS are investigated. READ MORE

  4. 4. Synthesis and Characterization of Functionalized Silica Mesoporous Crystals : Cationic Surfactant and Co-structure Directing Agent System

    Author : Lu Han; Osamu Terasaki; Viveka Alfredsson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mesoporous silica; Template synthesis; Functionalization; Electron microscopy; Defects; Crystal growth; Catalysis; Inorganic chemistry; Oorganisk kemi; Structural Chemistry; strukturkemi;

    Abstract : This dissertation has been focused on the synthesis and characterization of novel functionalized silica mesoporous crystals by using cationic surfactant and co–structure directing agents (CSDA), the central concept of the synthesis method is to build proper organic/inorganic interactions by introducing CSDA into the synthesis system. By using cationic surfactant as template and anionic CSDA, carboxylic group functionalized mesoporous silicas were successfully synthesized. READ MORE

  5. 5. Characterizing cavity containing materials using electron microscopy : A study of metal oxides, mesoporous crystals and porous material containing nanosized metal-particles

    Author : Miia Klingstedt; Osamu Terasaki; Syo Matsumura; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Electron microscopy; Structural Chemistry; strukturkemi;

    Abstract : This thesis concerns the characterization of novel materials by utilizing electron microscopy techniques. The examined materials contain cavities with certain attributes that enables desired properties for applications such as gas separation, catalysis and fuel cells. READ MORE
