    Author : Eva Olsson; Livsmedelsteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Termisk teknik; fluiddynamik; plasma; Thermal engineering; applied thermodynamics; Gaser; fluid dynamics; plasmas; Gases; RSM; CFD; inverse heat transfer; jet impingement heat transfer; infrared heating; termodynamik; Food and drink technology; Livsmedelsteknik; PIV; SST; food; cylinder;

    Abstract : Rapid heat transfer methods such as jet impingement and infrared radiation can be used to speed up thermal processing in the food industry. The heating rate affects important food characteristics, such as colour. READ MORE

  2. 2. Dynamic Modelling and Simulation of Liquid Food Process Lines

    Author : Tomas Skoglund; Livsmedelsteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Process lines; Dynamic model; Microbial deactivation; Data- och systemvetenskap; computer technology; Systems engineering; Fuzzy traceability; Traceability; Thermal engineering; termodynamik; Termisk teknik; applied thermodynamics; Chemical technology and engineering; Kemiteknik och kemisk teknologi; Food and drink technology; Heat exchanger; Dispersion; Fluid property transition; Liquid food; Dynamic simulation; Livsmedelsteknik;

    Abstract : In the present work a dynamic model library of components for process lines was developed. The analysis addressed characteristic aspects of liquid food process lines, and new models were developed for fluid transitions, dispersion, mixing zones and first-order chemical reactions in pipes and heat exchangers. 3. 3. CFD Modeling of Turbulent Flows in Industrial Applications with Emphasis on Premixed Combustion in Gas Turbines

    Author : Ulf Engdar; Kraftverksteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; framdrivningssystem; Motorer; turbulence and premixed combustion modeling ; CFD modeling ; level-set flamelet library approach ; emissions ; gas turbine ; compressor washing ; spray modeling ; Technological sciences; Teknik; Energy research; Energiforskning; Thermal engineering; applied thermodynamics; Termisk teknik; Motors and propulsion systems; termodynamik;

    Abstract : Increasing restrictions on hazardous emissions combined with demands for good profitability from the operators in the energy market have contributed strongly to the development of innovations in which the emphasis is on low emissions and high efficiency. For gas turbine-based power plants, emission of NOx in particular is governed by stringent legislation. READ MORE

  4. 4. Computational Analysis of Heat Transfer and Fluid Flow with Relevance for IC-Engine Cooling

    Author : Sassan Etemad; Värmeöverföring; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Termisk teknik; termodynamik; turbulence models; Heat transfer; curved duct; secondary flow; IC-engine cooling; Gases; Thermal engineering; applied thermodynamics; Teknik; Technological sciences; plasma; Gaser; fluiddynamik; plasmas; fluid dynamics;

    Abstract : Modern IC-engines produce more power per displaced volume and operate at higher combustion pressures and temperatures. In addition, engine structure materials such as aluminium and magnesium alloys, which are more sensitive to thermal loads, are more commonly used. READ MORE

  5. 5. Full Cycle Engine Simulations with Detailed Chemistry

    Author : Adina Gogan; Värmeöverföring; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; plasmas; Gaser; Gases; fluid dynamics; aktuariematematik; programmering; operationsanalys; Statistik; actuarial mathematics; programming; operations research; Statistics; detailed kinetics; emissions; engine knock; autoignition; modeling; spark ignition engine; diesel engine; fluiddynamik; plasma; Technological sciences; Teknik; Thermal engineering; applied thermodynamics; Termisk teknik; termodynamik; Motors and propulsion systems; Motorer; framdrivningssystem; stochastic reactor model;

    Abstract : The modeling work developed in this thesis can be divided in two main areas of investigations: autoignition related to spark ignition engine and combustion and emissions formation in relation to diesel engines. A first version of a detailed kinetics engine simulation program, extended to handle full cycle calculations, was employed in order to demonstrate the strong effect that nitric oxide from the residual gas has on the autoignition onset.
