11. A Fast Pixelated Thermal-Neutron Detector
Abstract : This thesis presents the study of a position-sensitive scintillation-based detector called the Solid-State Neutron Detector (SoNDe). SoNDe is being developed for cold- and thermal-neutron detection at the small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) instrument SKADI at the European Spallation Source (ESS), currently under construction in Lund, Sweden. 12. Thermal Modelling of Power Modules in a Hybrid Vehicle Application
Abstract : Hybrid electric and full electric vehicles have attracted growing attention during the last decade. This is a consequence of several factors, such as growing environmental concerns, increasing oil prices and a strive for oil independency. READ MORE

13. In-situ testing of floating thermal piles in soft sensitive clay
Abstract : Thermal piles are structural piles with additional function of working as geothermal heat exchangers towards the soil volume. Heating and cooling process of soft soils is known to affect the stress state and soil structure, with potential consolidation settlements and creep as undesired consequences. READ MORE

14. Mechanisms of Electrical Ageing of Oilimpregnated Paper due to Partial Discharges
Abstract : In this thesis, partial discharge (PD) phenomenon in oil-impregnated paper (OIP) is investigated under accelerated electrical stress. The thesis is mainly focused on the characteristic of PD activity and the influence it has on the insulation properties of OIP. READ MORE

15. A Systematic Approach to Integrated Building Performance Assessment and Visualisation
Abstract : The aim of this project was to develop a holistic approach to building-performance assessment without limiting it to energy use (usually expressed in kWh/m2/year), but rather include more parameters that represent the following aspects: Economic, environmental, and quality of service provided to the occupant/client. If it can be shown that buildings can be operated not only in an energy-efficient way, but also in a way that takes into consideration the needs of the occupants, a case could be built that a higher quality of indoor environment does not necessarily mean a higher economic impact.
