1. Studies of Steel/Slag Equilibria using Computational Thermodynamics
Abstract : The main focus in the present work concerns calculations on steel/slag equilibria. Thermodynamic software and databases are now powerful and accurate enough to give reliable results when applied to complex metallurgical processes. One example is the decarburization process of high alloyed steels. READ MORE

2. Thermodynamic Investigation of Co-Cr Alloys
Abstract : In a collaborative effort between the Divison of Metallurgyand the Divison of Computational Thermodynamics, RoyalInstitute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm, Sweden, experimentalinvestigations have been carried out in the binary Co-Crsystem. The experimental strategy has been to measure thethermodynamic activities of Cr by the solid oxide electrolytegalvanic cell technique, as well as to measure the molar heatcapacities of the alloys, as function of temperature, by theDSC technique. 3. Thermodynamic Database for Zirconium Alloys
Abstract : For many decades zirconium alloys have been commonly used in the nuclear power industry as fuel cladding material. Besides their good corrosion resistance and acceptable mechanical properties the main reason for using these alloys is the low neutron absorption. READ MORE

4. Thermodynamic modelling and assessment of some alumino-silicate systems
Abstract : Alumino-silicate systems are of great interest for materials scientists and geochemists. Thermodynamic knowledge of these systems is useful in steel and ceramic industries, and for understanding geochemical processes. A popular and efficient approach used to obtain a self-consistent thermodynamic dataset is called CALPHAD. READ MORE

5. Evolution of Microstructure in Two Austenitic Alloys at High Temperatures
Abstract : A niobium stabilised AISI 347 austenitic stainless steel was investigated after static ageing and creep deformation at temperatures between 500°C and 800°C for times up to 88 000 h. Coarse and fine NbX precipitates and also s-phase precipitates were formed in the temperature range 500-700°C. READ MORE
