16. Nucleic Acids as Drugs and Drug Targets With Focus on Anticancer Active Platinum Complexes and Small Interfering RNAs
Abstract : To ensure that patients receive a safe and effective treatment, it is important to understand how drugs interact with and affect molecules within a cell. Here, evaluation of platinum based drugs and their ability to interfere with nucleic acid functions is presented. READ MORE

17. On the stability of proteins from hyperthermophiles : a structural and thermodynamic study
Abstract : In this study the structural and thermodynamic basis of the thermal stability of proteins has been studied using proteins from hyperthermophilic organisms as model systems. A new type of chaperonin (TF55) has been isolated from the hyperthermophilic archaeon Sulfolobus solfataricus consisting of two different subunits named TF55-alpha and TF55-beta. READ MORE

18. Structure determination and thermodynamic stabilization of an engineered protein-protein complex
Abstract : The interaction between two 6 kDa proteins has been investigated. The studied complex of micromolar affinity (Kd) consists of the Z domain derived from staphylococcal protein A and the related protein ZSPA-1, belonging to a group of binding proteins denoted affibody molecules generated via combinatorial engineering of the Z domain. 19. Thermodynamic Toolkit for Chemical Recycling to Monomer
Abstract : The design of polymeric materials for a circular economy is, to a largeextent, a challenge of thermodynamics. The work presented in this thesishas explored the thermodynamic features of ring-opening polymerizationand ring-closing depolymerization, to develop polymeric materials andrecycling strategies for chemical recycling to monomer. 20. Thermodynamic modelling of carbides in multicomponent systems : theoretical and experimental approach
Abstract : This thesis concerns thermodynamic modeling of carbides in multicomponent systems. Focus has been made on systems interesting for cemented carbide production but the results are also useful for many other application were the material consist of different carbides, for example tool steels/high speed steels.
