  1. 21. A multi-scale approach for predicting the fire response of building barriers

    Author : Blanca Andrés Valiente; Avdelningen för Brandteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fire; Building Barriers; Heat transfer; Experimental; Gypsum; Stone wool; furnace; H-TRIS;

    Abstract : Building barriers are compartmentation elements in buildings that limit the passage of fire and smoke to adjacent spaces. They are key elements in the overall response of a building in a fire. The adequate fire response of building barriers is usually assessed by the fulfilment of standardized resistance to fire tests. 2. 22. Tellurium interaction with surfaces in the containment and sea-salt residue

    Author : Fredrik Espegren; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; server nuclear accident; Keywords: tellurium; seawater; deposition; chemistry; containment;

    Abstract : In the event of a nuclear accident, the release of radionuclides is always a concern. The extent of such releases is affected by several factors, for example type of atmosphere, temperature, and what structural materials are present during the accident. READ MORE

  3. 23. Structural, thermal and thermodynamic properties of some Ln-Pd oxides and their behaviour as catalyst precursors

    Author : Martin Andersson; A.R. West; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; oorganisk kemi; Inorganic Chemistry;

    Abstract : The structural, thermal and thermodynamic properties of some Ln-Pd oxides of the Ln4Pd07 type are presented. The main results are; (i) Reduction of Ln4Pd07, either ex-situ by CO or in-situ by a synthetic car exhaust gas, results in a materialwith catalytic activity for car exhaust gas clean-up reactions. 4. 24. Bio-coal as an alternative reducing agent in the blast furnace

    Author : Asmaa El-Tawil; Lena Sundqvist Öqvist; Bo Björkman; Henrik Saxen; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Devolatilization; torrefied biomass; bio-coal; volatile matter; reduction; blast furnace; Process Metallurgy; Processmetallurgi;

    Abstract : The steel industry is aiming to reduce CO2 emissions by different means; in the short-term, by replacing fossil coal with highly reactive carbonaceous material like bio-coal (pretreated biomass) and, in the longer term, by using hydrogen. The use of bio-coal as part of top charged briquettes also containing iron oxide has the potential to lower the thermal reserve zone temperature of the Blast furnace (BF) and, due to improved gas efficiency, thereby give a high replacement ratio to coke. 5. 25. Synthesis, Structure and Proton Conduction of Substituted BaTiO3 and BaZrO3 Perovskites

    Author : Seikh Mohammad Habibur Rahman; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; deuteron position; Rietveld refinements; heavily doped oxygen deficient perovskite BaTiO3 BaZrO3 ; neutron total scattering; New proton conductor; X-ray and neutron powder diffraction; RMC modelling.; Impedance spectroscopy;

    Abstract : Proton conducting oxides can be beneficial as electrolyte materials in devices such as fuel cells, hydrogen sensors etc. Proton conducting fuel cells (PCFCs), utilising H2 as fuel, stand out as a promising technology for future clean energy generation. READ MORE
