1. High Temperature Fatigue Behaviour of Austenitic Stainless Steel : Microstructural Evolution during Dwell-Fatigue and Thermomechanical Fatigue
Abstract : The global energy consumption is increasing and together with global warming from greenhouse gas emission, a need for more environmentally friendly energy production processes is created. Higher efficiency of biomass power plants can be achieved by increasing temperature and pressure in the boiler section, this would increase the generation of electricity along with the reduction in emission of greenhouse gases e. 2. High-Temperature Fatigue Behaviour of Austenitic Stainless Steel : Influence of Ageing on Thermomechanical Fatigue and Creep-Fatigue Interaction
Abstract : The global energy consumption is increasing and together with global warming from greenhouse gas emission, create the need for more environmental friendly energy production processes. Higher efficiency of biomass power plants can be achieved by increasing temperature and pressure in the boiler section and this would increase the generation of electricity along with the reduction in emission of greenhouse gases e. 3. Fatigue life prediction of additively manufactured ductile nickel-based superalloys : Constitutive and crack initiation modelling
Abstract : This dissertation was produced at the Division of Solid Mechanics at Linköping University, and is the final result of a project that included mechanical testing and modelling of an additively manufactured ductile nickel-based superalloy. The main objective of the work presented in this thesis was to investigate and model the cyclic behaviour and the fatigue life behaviour of an additively manufactured ductile nickel-based superalloy, with emphasis on modelling the stabilised material behaviour, by which fatigue life predictions can be based upon. 4. A ΔJ approach for nonlinear fatigue crack propagation : Experimental and numerical investigation of a ductile superalloy
Abstract : This dissertation is a product of an academic-industrial collaboration between the Division of Solid Mechanics at Linköping University and Siemens Energy AB. The focus is on enhancing the design optimisation procedures for high-temperature components in industrial gas turbines (IGT). READ MORE

5. On Thermomechanical Fatigue of Single-Crystal Superalloys
Abstract : Thanks to their excellent mechanical and chemical properties at temperatures up to 1000 °C, nickel-based superalloys are used in critical components in high-temperature applications such as gas turbines and aero engines. One of the most critical components in a gas turbine is the turbine blade, and to improve the creep and fatigue properties of this component, it is sometimes cast in single-crystal form rather than in the more conventional poly-crystalline form.
