  1. 1. Switching ON Fetal B Lymphopoiesis

    Author : Trine Kristiansen; Avdelningen för molekylär hematologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; B-1 B cells; Lin28; Fetal hematopoietic stem cells;

    Abstract : B-1a cells are innate-like lymphocytes that develop primarily during fetal and neonatal life, whereas adult bone marrow (BM) hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) preferentially give rise to follicular B-2 cells. Functioning at the interface of the innate and adaptive immune systems, B-1a cells provide a non-redundant first line of defense prior to the temporally delayed establishment of a B-2 cell response. 2. 2. Chronic lymphocytic leukemia : Studies on cardiovascular disease, biomarkers and subclones

    Author : Karin Larsson; Martin Höglund; Geir Tjønnfjord; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; : Chronic lymphocytic leukemia; cardiovascular disease; population-based; biomarkers; subclones; Medicinsk vetenskap; Medical Science;

    Abstract : The treatment of Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is rapidly changing, with targeted therapies, e.g. Bruton’s tyrosine kinase inhibitors (BTKi), entering the frontline and relapse setting. However, BTKis have significant adverse effects, most notably cardiovascular disease (CVD). READ MORE

  3. 3. Molecular Genetic and DNA Methylation Profiling of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia : A Focus on Divergent Prognostic Subgroups and Subsets

    Author : Nicola Cahill; Richard Rosenquist; Larry Mansouri; Fergus Ryan; Denis Alexander; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; DNA methylation; Chronic lymphocytic leukemia; SNP; array; IGHV3-21; IGHV4-34; Biology with specialization in Molecular Biology; Biologi med inriktning mot molekylärbiologi; Genetics; Genetik; Medical Genetics; Medicinsk genetik; Molecular Biology; Molekylärbiologi; Molekylär genetik; Molecular Genetics; Oncology; Onkologi;

    Abstract : Advancements in prognostication have improved the subdivision of chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) into diverse prognostic subgroups. In CLL, IGHV unmutated and IGHV3-21 genes are associated with a poor-prognosis, conversely, IGHV mutated genes with a favourable outcome. READ MORE

  4. 4. Molecular Genetic Analysis in B-cell Lymphomas : A Focus on the p53 Pathway and p16INK4a

    Author : Norafiza Zainuddin; Gunilla Enblad; Richard Rosenquist; Mattias Berglund; Kirsten Gronbaek; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma; chronic lymphocytic leukemia; TP53 mutation; MDM2 SNP309; codon 72 polymorphism; p16INK4a methylation; Clinical genetics; Klinisk genetik; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi; Haematology; Hematologi; Tumour biology; Tumörbiologi; Clinical Genetics; Klinisk genetik; Medical Genetics; Medicinsk genetik; Molekylär genetik; Molecular Genetics; Oncology; Onkologi; Pathology; Patologi;

    Abstract : The presence of TP53 mutations has been associated with inferior outcome in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). In DLBCL, the impact of the TP53 codon 72 polymorphism and MDM2 SNP309 has not been clearly elucidated, whereas MDM2 SNP309 was suggested as a poor-prognostic marker in CLL. READ MORE

    Author : Zahra Haider; Sofie Degerman; Magnus Hultdin; Göran Roos; Pieter van Vlierberghe; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia; Lymphoma; T-ALL; BCP-ALL; T-LBL; DNA methylation; CIMP; Prognosis; TAL1; HOX.;

    Abstract : Precursor lymphoid neoplasms, namely acute lymphoblastic leukemias (ALL) and lymphoblastic lymphomas (LBL), are characterized by an aggressive proliferation of malignant progenitor B- or T-cells. To improve risk classification at diagnosis, better prognostic and treatment stratifying biomarkers are needed. READ MORE
