  1. 21. Cooling Control Strategies in Data Centers for Energy Efficiency and Heat Recovery

    Author : Riccardo Lucchese; Andreas Johansson; Wolfgang Birk; Thomas Brunschwiler; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Reglerteknik; Control Engineering;

    Abstract : Data centers are facilities dedicated to the processing, storage, and relay of large amounts of digital information. As a whole, it is an energy intensive industry, characterized by a sizable carbon footprint and a short-term exponential growth rate. READ MORE

  2. 22. On Visual Area Coverage Using Micro Aerial Vehicles

    Author : Sina Sharif Mansouri; George Nikolakopoulos; Thomas Gustafsson; Andreas Johansson; Pantelis Sopasakis; Jana Tumova; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Reglerteknik; Control Engineering;

    Abstract : The aim of this Licentiate is to advance the field of cooperative visual coverage path planners for multiple Micro Aerial Vehicles (MAVs), while aiming for their real life adoption towards the tasks of aerial infrastructure inspection. The fields that will be addressed are focusing in: a) the collaborative perception of the environment, b) the collaborative visual inspection, and c) the optimization of the aerial missions based on the remaining flying battery, camera constraints, coverage constraints and other real life mission induced constraints. 3. 23. Characterization of Ceramic Raw Minerals in Uganda for Production of Electrical Porcelain Insulators

    Author : Peter Wilberforce Olupot; Stefan Jonsson; Thomas Johansson; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electrical porcelain; glaze; characterisation; multite; quartz; Uganda; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Abstract : In this work an extended literature survey on ceramics and porcelains in particular, has been documented. Samples from two Ugandan deposits of each feldspar and quartz were characterised by means of X-ray diffraction, thermal analysis, chemical analysis and scanning electron microscopy and found to possess requisite properties for making electro porcelain insulators. 5. 25. Swedish industrial and energy supply measures in a European system perspective

    Author : Louise Trygg; Björn G. Karlsson; Thomas B. Johansson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : Deregulated European Electricity market; Industries; Energy suppliers; CO2 emissions; Electricity reduction; European electricity prices; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : A common electricity market in Europe will in all probability lead to a levelling out of the electricity price, which implies that Swedish consumers will face higher electricity prices with a European structure. This new market situation will force industry and energy suppliers to take new essential measures as actors in a deregulated European electricity market. READ MORE
