  1. 1. Setosphaeria turcica, fungal mating and plant defence

    Author : Thomas Martin; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Keywords : LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The heterothallic ascomycete Setosphaeria turcica (anamorph: Exserohlium turcicum) causes turcicum leaf blight on maize and sorghum. A survey was undertaken in Uganda to examine the sorghum – S. turcica interaction in terms of disease severity and incidence, overall fungal population structure, and new resistant resources. 2. 2. Visualization and mesoscopic simulation in systems biology

    Author : Martin Falk; Thomas Ertl; Germany University of Stuttgart Visualization Research Center; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Scientific Visualization; GPGPU; Simulation; Systems Biology; Model Development; Signal Transduction;

    Abstract : Biological cells appear everywhere on earth. They might live on their own as unicellular organism, like bacteria, or might form complex organisms consisting of several thousands or millions of cells. Despite their small size of only a few micrometers, they are complex little miracles. READ MORE

  3. 3. The structural diversity of lipopolysaccharides expressed by genetically defined clinical isolates of nontypeable Haemophilus influenzae

    Author : Martin Månsson; Elke K. H. Schweda; Jane Thomas-Oats; Södertörns högskola; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nontypeable Haemophilus influenzae NTHi ; lipopolysaccharide LPS ; nuclear magnetic resonance NMR spectroscopy; electrospray ionization mass spectrometry ESIMS ; structural analysis.;

    Abstract : Nontypeable Haemophilus influenzae (NTHi) is an important cause of otitis media and respiratory tract infections. Its lipopolysaccharide (LPS) molecule, an outer membrane component, is a major virulence factor of NTHi. The LPS molecule may also be an efficient target for antibodies which might be protective against NTHi disease. READ MORE

  4. 4. Characterization of α-synuclein oligomers : Implications for Lewy Body Disorders

    Author : Thomas Näsström; Martin Ingelsson; Joakim Bergström; Lars Lannfelt; Poul Henning Jensen; Uppsala universitet; []

    Abstract : Parkinson’s disease, dementia with Lewy bodies and multiple system atrophy are disorders featuring accumulation of Lewy bodies in brain. The main component of these large insoluble intracellular inclusions is the presynaptic protein alpha-synuclein (α-synuclein). READ MORE

  5. 5. Sensorimotor control and cervical range of motion in women with chronic neck pain : Kinematic assessments and effects of neck coordination exercise
