16. Live Single Cell Imaging and Analysis Using Microfluidic Devices
Abstract : Today many cell biological techniques study large cell populations where an average estimate of individual cells’ behavior is observed. On the other hand, single cell analysis is required for studying functional heterogeneities between cells within populations. READ MORE

17. Towards High-Throughput Phenotypic and Systemic Profiling of in vitro Growing Cell Populations using Label-Free Microscopy and Spectroscopy : Applications in Cancer Pharmacology
Abstract : Modern techniques like automated microscopy and spectroscopy now make it possible to study quantitatively, across multiple phenotypic and molecular parameters, how cell populations are affected by different treatments and/or environmental disturbances. As the technology development at the instrument level often is ahead of the data analytical tools and the scientific questions, there is a large and growing need for computational algorithms enabling desired data analysis. 18. Some Applications of Variational Inequalities in Mathematical Finance and Numerics
Abstract : This thesis contains two parts. The first part deals with a stochastic impulse control problem, subject to the restriction of a minimum time lapse in between interventions made by the controller. We prove existence of an optimal control and show that the value function of the control problem satisfies a system of quasi-variational inequalities. READ MORE

19. Deep learning approaches for image cytometry: assessing cellular morphological responses to drug perturbations
Abstract : Image cytometry is the analysis of cell properties from microscopy image data and is used ubiquitously in basic cell biology, medical diagnosis and drug development. In recent years deep learning has shown impressive results for many image cytometry tasks, including image processing, segmentation, classification and detection. READ MORE

20. Does acetylcholin play a role in mitosis of V79 Chinese hamster cells?
Abstract : The first stages of mitosis are governed by a cascade of phosphorylations brought about by the universal MPF kinase complex. From a regulatory point of view, less is known about late mitotic events. READ MORE
