    Abstract : .... READ MORE

  2. 2. Mechanical modeling of granite subjected to contact loading

    Author : Hossein Shariati; Per-Lennart Larsson; Francois Hild; Mahdi Saadati; Timo Saksala; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Solid Mechanics; Hållfasthetslära;

    Abstract : The mechanical properties of Bohus granite subjected to contact loading is investigated based on experimental and numerical results. An elasto-plastic constitutive material model combined with a damage description is employed. The material model parameters are determined based on experimental results. READ MORE

  3. 3. Mechanical modeling of granite subjected to indentation loading

    Author : Hossein Shariati; Per-Lennart Larsson; Mahdi Saadati; Francois Hild; Timo Saksala; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Solid Mechanics; Hållfasthetslära;

    Abstract : The understanding of the mechanical response of Bohus granite, as typical of hard rocks, to percussive drilling is important to improve the efficiency of such an operation. The resulting problem includes material modeling of the selected type of rock under indentation loading conditions. READ MORE

  4. 4. Heterogeneous Bonded Particle Modelling of Rock Fracture

    Author : Albin Wessling; Jörgen Kajberg; Simon Larsson; Pär Jonsén; Timo Saksala; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Rock; DEM; BPM; fracture; drilling; dynamic; Solid Mechanics; Hållfasthetslära;

    Abstract : The dynamic fracture process of rock materials is of importance for several industries, such as the rock drilling process in geothermal and mining applications. Gaining knowledge and understanding of dynamic rock fracture through numerical simulations can enhance the rock drilling process, for example by optimising the drill bit geometry and drilling parameters.
