21. Formation of Mesoporous Materials and their use as Lipid Bilayer Supports
Abstract : Mesoporous materials have acquired great scientific interest in various applications; something that is largely due to that their properties, such as pore size, pore orientation, material composition and surface chemistry, can be controlled to a large extent. One idea, which has been investigated in this thesis, is to use mesoporous materials as supports for lipid bilayers and by doing so fabricate devices that mimic the cell wall and at the same time has sufficient mechanical robustness for practical use. 22. The synergistic role of hierarchical macro- and mesoporous implant surface and microscopic view of enhanced osseointegration
Abstract : The trend for designing of a titanium implant explored using different chemical compositions and crystallinity materials until people realized that the implant surface character was another important factor affecting the rate and extent of osseointegartion. Titanium received a macroporous titania surface layer by anodization, which contains open pores with average pore diameter around 5μm. READ MORE

23. Self-Assembling Surfactant Aggregates for Synthesis of Nanomaterials
Abstract : The main objective of this thesis was to study how surfactant assemblies can be used as templates to form inorganic nanomaterials. Both water-in-oil microemulsions and liquid crystalline phases have been used as structure directing agents. READ MORE

24. Fabrication and Characterization of Composite TiO2/Carbon Nanofilms with Enhanced Photocatalytic Activity
Abstract : The work presented in this thesis is dedicated to fabrication and characterization of an efficient thin film photocatalyst for environmental cleaning and solar fuel applications. Because of its simplicity and reproducible fabrication, the chosen combination of nanometer thin titania and carbon films serves also as a model system for a wider class of photoactive materials. 25. Fabrication of inverse opal oxide structures for efficient light harvesting
Abstract : Artificial opals are self-assembled face centered cubic (fcc) structures of spherically shaped beads, which interesting applications as photonic band gap materials. Inverse opals are photonic crystals consisting of fcc paced voids of a low refractive index material imbedded in a high refractive index material. READ MORE
