1. Path-planning with obstacle-avoiding minimum curvature variation B-splines
Abstract : We study the general problem of computing an obstacle-avoiding path that, for a prescribed weight, minimizes the weighted sum of a smoothness measure and a safety measure of the path. We consider planar curvature-continuous paths, that are functions on an interval of a room axis, for a point-size vehicle amidst obstacles. READ MORE

2. High volumetric machining strategies for superalloy gasturbine components : Comparing conventional and nonconventional machining methods for efficient manufacturing
Abstract : There is a strong industrial driving force to find alternative manufacturing technologies in order to make the production of aero engine components of superalloys even more efficient than it is today. Introducing new and nonconventional machining technologies, as well as enhanced utilisation of today's high volumetric manufacturing, allows taking a leap to increase the material removal rate and the productivity. 3. Surface integrity on post processed alloy 718 after nonconventional machining
Abstract : There is a strong industrial driving force to find alternative production technologies in order to make the production of aero engine components of superalloys even more efficient than it is today. Introducing new and nonconventional machining technologies allows taking a giant leap to increase the material removal rate and thereby drastically increase the productivity. READ MORE

4. The roots grow deep: Strong yet changeable : Social norms and working life
Abstract : The overarching aim of this thesis was to explore social norms in relation to work and its influence on individuals’ actions and mindsets. This has been done through four empirical studies which investigated the work norm from three different perspectives: 1) the work norm in practice, through the actions of individuals on sick leave during their rehabilitation process and in relation to the system and the actors within the system, as well as managers actions within their organisations; 2) exploring perceptions of the work norm in terms of socialisation to working life and structural changes; 3) a comparative exploration of the work norm between different contexts. 5. There is power in a union : Trade union organization, union membership and union activity in Sweden
Abstract : This thesis investigates what factors affect union organization and, to some degree, union activity in the face of declining union density in the majority of Western countries. Union structures have been changing in recent decades, not only in terms of declining membership but also because women and white-collar workers are becoming a more stable part of the membership base, whereas previously highly organized groups, such as blue-collar workers, are in decline.
