1. Ligand binding and enzyme catalysis studied by molecular dynamics simulations
Abstract : Molecular dynamics simulations and free energy calculations can be applied to biomolecular systems to predict ligand binding affinities. Combined with hybrid quantum-classical potential energy surfaces, such computations can also be used to probe enzymatic catalysis mechanisms. READ MORE

2. Biomarkers in perch (Perca fluviatilis) used in environmental monitoring of the Stockholm recipient and background areas in the Baltic Sea
Abstract : This thesis reports the results of biomarker measurements in three environmental monitoring projects. In the first project, which was part of the Swedish national environmental monitoring, biomarkers were measured annually in female perch (Perca fluviatilis) in two background areas in the Baltic Sea during 1988–2000, resulting in a unique 13-year series of measurements. 3. Distribution and activity of pelagic fish - acoustic studies in the Baltic Sea
Abstract : Fisheries agencies around the Baltic Sea use hydroacoustics to assess stock sizes of herring and sprat. These assessments rely on the assumption that the acoustic properties of Baltic clupeids are the same as North Sea herring. READ MORE

4. The influence of biogenic organic compounds on cloud formation
Abstract : Aerosols and clouds provide the largest uncertainty in the atmospheric radiation budget. The main focus of this thesis was to investigate the ability of organic compounds in aerosol particles to form clouds, and more specifically those emitted by living organisms. READ MORE

5. Dynamic Access Control for Industrial Systems
Abstract : Industrial automation and control systems (IACS) are taking care of our most important infrastructures, providing electricity and clean water, producing medicine and food, along with many other services and products we take for granted. The continuous, safe, and secure operation of such systems are obviously of great importance. READ MORE
