  1. 1. Probing intestinal permeability in man using different-sized, low-molecular-weight polyethyleneglycols and mathematical modelling

    Author : Tommy Sundqvist; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : Selective intestinal permeability as reflected by the urinary recovery of low-molecular-weight polyethylene glycols (PEG 400) of dlfferentsizes after oral administration was characterized with a mathematical filter-function. There was relative loss of both large and small PEG molecules on their way from the intestine to the urine. READ MORE

  2. 2. Radical aspects on arthritis : the role of neutrophil generation of nitric oxide and superoxide in inflammatory conditions

    Author : Jan Cedergren; Thomas Skogh; Tommy Sundqvist; Tony Forslund; Ingrid Lundberg; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; neutrophils; reactive oxygen species; arthritis; NOS; NO; arginase; integrins; Internal medicine; Invärtesmedicin;

    Abstract : The polymorphonuclear neutrophil granulocytes (neutrophils) are gaining renewed interest regarding their involvement in chronic inflammatory disorders, including rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Besides phagocytic and destructive capabilities, neutrophils have regulatory roles, e.g. by influencing responses from dendritic cells and lymphocytes. READ MORE

  3. 3. Colorectal Liver Metastases – Different Aspects on Treatment with Associated Liver Partition and Portal Vein Ligation for Staged Hepatectomy and on Portal Vein Occlusion

    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Introduction: For patients with colorectal liver metastases (CRLM), the only treatment with a possibility for long-term survival and cure is radical resection. The majority of patients are at the time of diagnosis not assessed as resectable because they have advanced disease in the liver or unresectable extrahepatic disease or are too frail to withstand liver surgery.
