  1. 1. Coeliac disease : Clinical and immunological aspects

    Author : Tony Hansson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Oncology; Coeliac disease; cytokines; TGF-beta; tissue transglutaminase; IL-4; IFN-gamma; TNF-alpha; ELISPOT; anti-endomysiumantibodies; anti-gliadin antibodies; Onkologi; Oncology; Onkologi; Klinisk immunologi; Clinical Immunology;

    Abstract : A better immunological definition of coeliac disease and highly discriminatory serum markers are needed to identify children with early mucosal lesions and for rapid follow-up and a better knowledge of antigen reactivity and cytokine production will be needed to clarify the pathogenic mechanisms.The numbers of circulating IgAanti-gliadin antibody-producing (IgAAGA SFC) cells were increased in patients with untreated coeliac disease compared to controls and treated coeliac disease patients. 2. 2. Going for gold : A spectroelectrochemical and catalytic study of gold materials

    Author : Sara Boscolo Bibi; Hansson Tony; Sergey Koroidov; Henrik Öström; Richard Kramer Campen; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Gold oxidation; oxide-derived metals; electrochemistry; X-ray spectroscopy; optical nonlinear spectroscopy; AuNPs supported in metal oxides; mass spectrometry; kemisk fysik; Chemical Physics;

    Abstract : With the increase in demand for renewable energy, understanding chemical processes is essential for improving the design of catalysts in order to achieve better performance. This thesis summarises the experimental investigation of three types of catalytic gold materials: gold oxide formed from gold films, oxide-derived gold (OD-Au) produced from gold films, and gold nanoparticles supported on metal oxides. 3. 3. Study of polycrystalline gold surfaces by potential-dependent optical sum frequency generation

    Author : Sara Boscolo Bibi; Tony Hansson; Magnus Johnson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; kemisk fysik; Chemical Physics;

    Abstract : With the increase in demand for renewable energy, the comprehension of chemical processes is essential to improve the design of catalysts in order to achieve better performance. This thesis summarizes the experimental investigation of redox reactions on polycrystalline gold surfaces by combining electrochemistry with operando surface-specific sum frequency generation (SFG) for a wider anodic potential interval than previously studied in acidic aqueous medium (H3PO4, pH 1). 4. 4. The Significance of IgG Antibodies against Tissue Transglutaminase in Coeliac Disease

    Author : Ingrid Dahlbom; Birgitta Heyman; Tony Hansson; Knut Lundin; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Immunology; Coeliac disease; Tissue transglutaminase; Endomysium; IgG antibodies; Immunologi;

    Abstract : Coeliac disease (CD) is a multifactorial disease of the small intestine. In genetically predisposed individuals the, ingestion of cereals leads to a remodulation of the mucosal architecture, and the production of autoantibodies against tissue transglutaminase (tTG). The treatment is a lifelong gluten-free diet. READ MORE

  5. 5. Ultrafast Spectroscopy of Atomic and Molecular Quantum Dynamics

    Author : Pia Johansson; Tony Hansson; Bertrand Girard; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemical physics; Kemisk fysik;

    Abstract : An all-pervading feature of the work presented in this thesis is the study of ultrafast dynamics, both theoretically and experimentally, in terms of time-dependent wave functions (wave packets).We have experimentally, by pump-probe fluorescence spectroscopy, examined spin-orbit interactions, by time-tracing molecular wave packets on excited states of diatomic rubidium, and the main channels causing the fast predissociation from one of those states is revealed.
