    Abstract : The aim of this thesis is to explore the quantitative potential to reduce energy requirements and CO2 emissions through changed patterns of consumption, given unchanged levels of consumption expenditure. The thesis question is analysed using a systems analysis approach which in this case means that life cycle assessment data on energy requirements and CO2 emissions related to household consumption are combined with a financial and behavioural analysis to make sure that the budget constraint is kept and that both the first and second order effects of adopting a green consumption pattern are analysed. 3. 3. Aspects of nutrition in geriatric patients - Especially dietary assessment, intake and requirements

    Author : Mats Persson Lintrup; Geriatrik; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Validity.; Total energy expenditure; Reproducibility; Malnutrition; Geriatric patients; Fluid intake; Energy requirements; Doubly labelled water; Diet records; Aged; Dietary intake; Nutrition; Näringslära; Social medicine; Socialmedicin; samhällsmedicin;

    Abstract : The aim of this thesis was to develop and test the feasibility of a dietary record routine, where nursing staff assess the patient’s food and fluid intake based on standardised portion sizes and household measurements. The energy intake (EI) was studied with a dietary record in 61 geriatric patients. READ MORE

  4. 4. Food habits in Swedish adolescents. Meal pattern, food choice and bioavailability of iron 1994 and 2000

    Author : Agneta Sjöberg; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; adolescent nutrition; food habits; interview; meals; dietary iron; iron fortification; bioavailability; energy intake; energy expenditure; doubly labelled water;

    Abstract : The general iron fortification of white wheat flour was removed after 50 years of iron fortification. It was considered important to evaluate the effects of withdrawal of iron fortification among vulnerable groups in the population. Adolescents have high iron requirements for growth and the girls for menstrual losses. READ MORE

    Abstract : AimThe overall objective of this thesis was to increase the knowledge and validate methods for assessment of total daily energy expenditure (TEE), energy requirement and energy intake (EI) in women with COPD. We also investigated the relationship of BMI with clinical characteristics of COPD in a population-based study. READ MORE
