16. Ultrasound Doppler Based In-Line Rheometry - Development, Validation and Application
Abstract : The trend within fluid industry is towards continuous production, leading to an increasing demand for new and improved methods that allow real-time monitoring of quality parameters and fast process control. The consistency and viscosity can be described by fluid rheology and are frequently used as quality control parameters. READ MORE

17. Light scattering in two-dimensional inhomogeneous paper : Analysis using general radiative transfer theory
Abstract : Modeling light scattering is important in diverse reasearch fields such as paper and print, optical tomography, remote sensing and also in computer rendering of images. Particularly in paper and printing industry light scattering simulations play a significant role in understanding the optical response of paper in relation to its properties. READ MORE

18. Transfer reactions in inverse kinematics at REX-ISOLDE
Abstract : Research on the structure of exotic nuclei is one of the most intriguing topics in present day nuclear physics. With the use of facilities for isotope separation on-line, such as ISOLDE at CERN, short-lived isotopes can be studied experimentally. READ MORE

19. Thermally stable electrical contacts to 6H silicon carbide
Abstract : Silicon Carbide (SiC) are at present being developed for use in high temperature (≥ 500◦C) and high-power environments under which conventional semiconductors can hardly perform. Thermally stable electrical contacts are essential to the ability of SiC to function under such extreme conditions. READ MORE

20. Off-line programming of coordinate measuring machines
Abstract : This thesis describes the state-of-the-art of off-line programming (OLP) for co-ordinate measuring machines (CMM's) and explores two important aspects of OLP systems; automatic generation of inspection programmes, probing points and movements between these, and data transfer from computer aided design (CAD). A method of generating inspection programmes using a 'feature' based definition of component geometry is described. READ MORE
