1. Flow Maldistribution in Exhaust Aftertreatment Systems - Numerical Simulations
Abstract : To comply with the stringent emission norms under every driving condition, including the coldstart conditions and Real Driving Emissions (RDE) tests, accurate models that capture the spatial and temporal variation of flow distribution information in Exhaust AfterTreatment Systems (EATS) are required. This study is aimed at characterizing and quantifying flow distribution in EATS under transient conditions with realistic geometry that illustrates the complex nature of the flow conditions. 2. Heat Flow in Building Components, Experiment and Analysis
Abstract : Three building components exposed to natural climate were studied: a dynamic insulation in the ceiling of a house, an outer wall and one window in the same wall. The term dynamic insulation implies that part of the inlet or exhaust air passes through the insulation of a house. READ MORE

4. An experimental investigation of flow in a Kaplan runner : steady-state and transient
Abstract : Water turbines are since some years widely used for grid stabilization purposes according to their exceptional load variation capability which gives them the ability to compensate grid fluctuations initiated by the customer’s consumption or intermittent electricity production systems such as wind and solar power. Different renewable power generation technologies can be combined in mini-grids to electrify isolated villages and extend existing grid networks. READ MORE

5. Stability of plane Couette flow and pipe Poiseuille flow
Abstract : This thesis concerns the stability of plane Couette flow and pipe Poiseuille flow in three space dimensions. The mathematical model for both flows is the incompressible Navier--Stokes equations. Both analytical and numerical techniques are used. We present new results for the resolvent corresponding to both flows. READ MORE
