16. Phosphorylation in State Transition : Less cause more effect
Abstract : Study of the Arabidopsis thaliana knockout mutant lacking Lhcb3 (koLhcb3) have revealed a close similarity to the wild type plants. Growth rate, NPQ, qP, Φ(PSII), circular dichroism spectra, pigment composition and content of LCHII trimers have been found to be unaffected by this mutation. READ MORE

17. The Missing link : Business Models Lock-in in Sociotechnical Transitions
Abstract : Societal and environmental challenges present challenges for our current industrial systems. In order to respond to these difficulties, various alternative systems have been suggested, as they promise sustainability and increased societal quality of life enabled by innovative technologies. 18. Computer Simulations of Simple Liquids with Tetrahedral Local Order : the Supercooled Liquid, Solids and Phase Transitions
Abstract : The understanding of complex condensed matter systems is an area of intense study. In this thesis, some properties of simple liquids with strong preference for tetrahedral local ordering are explored. These liquids are amenable to supercooling, and give complex crystalline structures on eventual crystallisation. READ MORE

19. Evolutionary transitions across the tree of life : Phylogenomic case studies in environmental archaea, bacteria and eukaryotes
Abstract : Microbes form the majority of life on Earth, but have been systematically underrepresented in historical research. The sequencing revolutions of the last two decades have completely changed the way we can study microbial genomic information, giving us the means to probe ever deeper into their evolution. READ MORE

20. Smooth transitions in macroeconomic relationships
Abstract : The purpose of this thesis is to explore the possibilities and advantages of describing macroeconomic relationships with a certain well-defined class of parametric nonlinear econometric models, called smooth transition regressions (STR). An STR model is a flexible nonlinear specification with a continuum of regimes. READ MORE
