  1. 11. Transmission Electron Microscopy of III-V Nanowires and Nanotrees

    Author : Lisa Karlsson; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Technological sciences; Naturvetenskap; Natural science; nanowires; TEM; III-V; Teknik;

    Abstract : In this work, the morphology and crystal structure of epitaxial semiconductor nanowire structures grown by metal-organic vapour phase epitaxy (MOVPE) are studied by electron microscopy methods. In particular, the three-dimensional structure of nanowires and nanotrees has been characterised by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and multi-slice (MS) simulations. 2. 12. Organization of Nanoparticles in Solution-A TEM Study

    Author : Olivier Balmes; Lunds universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Materiallära; materialteknik; Material technology; organisation; plunge freezing; TEM; nanoparticle; transmission electron microscopy;

    Abstract : A new approach to the study of nanoparticle systems has been introduced. Nanoparticle systems in aqueous and organic solutions have been synthesized and studied by transmission electron microscopy. These systems include nanoparticles of gold, silver, palladium, ruthenium, and platinum which have been stabilized using various ligands. READ MORE

  3. 13. Transmission Electron Tomography and In-situ Analysis of Nanowires

    Author : Axel Persson; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Transmission electron microscopy TEM ; Electron tomography; Nanowires NWs ; Aerotaxy; In-situ;

    Abstract : As semiconducting nanowires have promising applications for materials science, nanoelectronics and photovoltaic devices, absolute control of their structure, morphology and composition is a prerequisite for their functionality. Nanowires, grown through the vapor-liquid-solid (VLS) method, exhibit a complex relationship between their liquid seed particle and what properties, such as the aforementioned ones, the wire adopts in the end. 4. 14. Design and characterization of nanoparticles and their assemblies : Transmission electron microscopy investigations from atomic to mesoscopic length scales

    Author : Arnaud Mayence; Lennart Bergström; Liberato Manna; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; nanoparticles; electron microscopy; Materials Chemistry; materialkemi;

    Abstract : Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) is a powerful and versatile tool for investigating nanomaterials. In this thesis, various transmission electron microscopy techniques are used to study the chemical and structural features of different types of inorganic nanoparticles of well-defined morphologies as well as their assemblies. 5. 15. Analysis of Structure, Composition and Growth of Semiconductor Nanowires by Transmission Electron Microscopy

    Author : Martin Ek; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Transmission electron microscopy; nanowires; III-V semiconductors; polarity; in-situ TEM;

    Abstract : Nanowires have the potential to be a very flexible platform for the design of semiconductor devices. In nanowires it is possible to form crystal structures not found in the bulk materials under normal conditions, and to combine different III-V and group IV materials into axial or radial heterostructures.
