  1. 1. 3D Electron Microscopy Methods and Applications : Structures from Atomic Scale to Mesoscale

    Author : Taimin Yang; Xiaodong Zou; Grüne Tim; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; 3D Electron microscopy; continuous rotation electron diffraction; structure determination; data quality; electron tomography; mesoporous materials; zeolites; Inorganic Chemistry; oorganisk kemi;

    Abstract : The crystal structure determines the physical properties of a material. The structure can be analysed at different levels, from atomic level, mesoscale level, all the way up to the macroscale level. READ MORE

    Abstract : Semiconductor nanowires are studied by using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) based methods in this work. In the first section, the growth mechanism of gallium arsenide nanowires grown by chemical beam epitaxy is investigated. The nanowires are epitaxially grown from a gallium arsenide substrate by using gold seed particles as catalysts. READ MORE

  3. 3. 3D Electron crystallography : Real space reconstruction and reciprocal space tomography

    Author : Daliang Zhang; Xiaodong Zou; Douglas L. Dorset; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Electron crystallography; Electron microscopy; Porous materials; Chemistry; Kemi; Structural Chemistry; strukturkemi;

    Abstract : Electron crystallography is an important technique for studying micro- and nano-sized materials. It has two important advantages over X-ray crystallography for structural studies: 1) crystals millions of times smaller than those needed for X-ray diffraction can be studied; 2) it is possible to; focus the electrons to form an image. 4. 4. Morphology of Polymers - Development of Electron Microscopy Methods

    Author : Helen Hassander; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SEM; TEM; polymer; electron microscopy; Polymer technology; biopolymers; Polymerteknik;

    Abstract : Most polymeric materials used today are not simple homopolymers, but consist of more than one polymer, which lead to morphologies of different length scale and shape. It is important to receive knowledge of the morphologies because the properties of the materials change depending on the structure. READ MORE

  5. 5. Image Processing in High Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy of Inorganic Materials

    Author : Anna Carlsson; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Oorganisk kemi; Inorganic chemistry; electron diffraction; Electron microscopy; image processing;

    Abstract : High resolution transmission electron microscopy and digital image processing has been used to investigate the structure and properties of inorganic materials. The image processing was performed with the programming language Semper. All routines are listed in the appendix. READ MORE
