1. An Experimental and Theoretical Study of the Mass Transport in Lithium-Ion Battery Electrolytes
Abstract : Lithium‐ion batteries are particularly suitable as energy storage solutions in high power applications, such as hybrid electric vehicles. It is generally considered that one of the processes that limit the power density for lithium‐ion batteries is the mass transport in the electrolyte. READ MORE

2. Noise emissions from sustainable transport : A multi-scale modeling approach
Abstract : Noise emissions from transportation remain one of the greatest environmental issues of modern day. Inhabitants in urban environments are especially exposed, with almost 80 million people in the European Union exposed to noise levels exceeding the recommended limits set by the World Health Organization (WHO). 3. Electronic, Transport, and Optical Properties of Broken-Gap Heterostructures
Abstract : This thesis examines the physical properties of broken-gap heterostructures using a multiband k.p model and self-consistent calculations. Broken-gap heterostructures, made from InAs, GaSb, and AlSb, are characterized by a special band alignment with an overlap between the InAs conduction band and the GaSb valence band. READ MORE

4. Linear and Nonlinear Transport in Quantum Nanostructures
Abstract : In this thesis, electron transport in mesoscopic semiconductor nanostructures, in particular so-called electron billiards or quantum dots, is studied. The thesis can be divided into two areas: the linear response regime of transport, and the nonlinear response regime of transport. READ MORE

5. Passenger assessments of quality in local public transport- measurement, variability and planning implications
Abstract : The aim of this work was to get a more detailed basis for planning of local public transport. With more knowledge of how segments of travellers assess different parts of a journey, bus routes can be planned to fit either all passengers or selected groups better. READ MORE
