  1. 1. Search for Dark Matter in events with missing transverse momentum and a Higgs boson decaying into bottom quarks with the ATLAS detector

    Author : Eleni Skorda; Partikel- och kärnfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ATLAS; LHC; Beyond the Standard Model; RECAST; Missing transverse momentum; Higgs boson; Bottom quarks; Transition Radiation Tracker; Dark Matter; Fysicumarkivet A:2022:Skorda;

    Abstract : Many astrophysical observations indicate the existence Dark Matter, which is not predicted by the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics. Many theories beyond the Standard Model (BSM) predict new heavy particles called WIMPs (Weakly Interacting Massive Particles). READ MORE

  2. 2. Electron beam profile measurements and emittance manipulation at the MAX-laboratory

    Author : Åke Andersson; Lunds universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; optics; quantum excitation; emittance; synchrotron radiation; electron beam; lattice; Accelerator; storage ring; diffraction; Physics; Fysik;

    Abstract : The emittances of the electron beams at the MAX-laboratory accelerator system have been studied. Apart from the build-up of the diagnostic tools for precise determination of the beam spatial profiles, the objectives have been: a) to verify the accelerator design emittances at low currents and to try to determine the emittances also at high currents; b) to investigate possibilities to manipulate the emittances. 3. 3. Electron beam sizes and lifetimes at MAX II and MAX III

    Author : Anders Rosborg; Lunds universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Electron accelerator; Storage ring; Synchrotron light source; Synchrotron radiation; Electron beam profile; Emittance; Beam size; Fysicumarkivet A:2012:Hansson; Lifetime; Bunch length; Landau cavities;

    Abstract : The MAX II and MAX III synchrotron light sources at MAX-lab provide synchrotron radiation for experiments in a wide variety of research fields. The synchrotron radiation is emitted by ultra-relativistic electrons circulating in electron storage rings. READ MORE

  4. 4. Accelerator physics studies of the MAX-lab storage rings

    Author : Magnus Sjöström; Lunds universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Electron accelerator; linear optics; storage ring; characterisation; synchrotron radiation; emittance; intrabeam scattering; electron beam profile;

    Abstract : Within research, synchrotron radiation is a highly useful probe for the study of materials, their properties and structures. Currently, no other radiation source allows the combination of high intensity and short wavelengths. READ MORE

  5. 5. Emittance and Energy Diagnostics for Electron Beams with Large Momentum Spread

    Author : Maja Olvegård; Volker Ziemann; Kay Wittenburg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; beam instrumentation; particle beam diagnostic; emittance; particle collider; particle accelerator; High Energy Physics; Högenergifysik;

    Abstract : Following the discovery of the Higgs-like boson at the Large Hadron Collider, there is demand for precision measurements on recent findings. The Compact Linear Collider, CLIC, is a candidate for a future linear electron-positron collider for such precision measurements. READ MORE
