  1. 1. VLSI aspects on inversion in finite fields

    Author : Mikael Olofsson; Christof Paar; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : VLSI; Inversion; Finite Fields; Area; Delay; Power dissipation; Irreducible polynomials; Polynomial basis; Triangular basis; Normal basis; Dual basis; Tower fields.; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : Different algorithms and architectures for inversion in finite extension fields are studied. The investigation is restricted to fields of characteristic two. Based on a simple transistor model, various architectures are compared with respect to delay, area requirement, and energy consumption. READ MORE

  2. 2. Linear and Non-Linear Analysis of Plates and Shells by Use of Morley Finite Elements

    Author : Ulrika Wendt; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Keywords : explicit dynamic formulation; adaptive methods; Shells Morley element; plates; Germain-Kirchhoff plate theory; finite element method; mixed plate formulation;

    Abstract : The thesis deals with plate bending analysis and shell analysis in static linear and dynamic non-linear situations. The thesis contains two parts. In common for them is the use of the Germain-Kirchhoff plate theory, constant strain, constant curvature triangular plate elements and adaptive improvement of original solution. READ MORE

  3. 3. Adsorbate Interactions and Growth Morphology

    Author : Staffan Ovesson; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The theory of growth has transformed substantially during the past decade. Whereas early theoretical methods were largely empirical, phenomenological, and continuum-based, today's tools include a quantitative, atomistic methodology on a first-principles basis. READ MORE

  4. 4. Modelling of Mass and Heat Transport in Paper - Evaluation of Mechanisms and Shrinkage

    Author : Erik Baggerud; Institutionen för kemiteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; solid-based coordinates; paper; porous medium; convection; diffusion; volume fractions; mercury displacement; shrinkage; simulations; convective; hot surface; Modelling; drying; Wood; pulp and paper technology; Pappers- och massateknik;

    Abstract : In this work a one-dimensional model for the mass and heat transport in the thickness direction of paper has been developed. Solid-based coordinates were applied to simplify incorporation of shrinkage. Liquid diffusion, gas convection and vapour and air diffusion were incorporated as mass transport mechansims. READ MORE

  5. 5. Computational electromagnetics : software development and high frequency modeling of surface currents on perfect conductors

    Author : Sandy Sefi; Jesper Oppelstrup; Francisco Saez de Adana; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; High frequency approximations; Maxwell’s equations; Method of Moments; Physical Optics; Geometrical Theory of Diffraction; Extraction Extrapolation; Numerical analysis; Numerisk analys;

    Abstract : In high frequency computational electromagnetics, rigorous numerical methods be come unrealistic tools due to computational demand increasing with the frequency. Instead approximations to the solutions of the Maxwell equations can be employed to evaluate th electromagnetic fields. READ MORE
