1. Bioresorbable copolymers with tailored properies : innovative materials för soft tissuel engineering
Abstract : The emerging need for new synthetic materials for soft tissue engineering applications encourages the search for innovative polymers having interesting properties. Ring-opening polymerization of lactones and lactides initiated by tin alkoxides has received particular attention due to the versatility of the method for building up well-defined biodegradable structures. 2. The Interaction between Triblock Copolymers and Surfactants in Dilute Aqueous Solution
Abstract : The solution properties of dilute aqueous solutions of poly(ethylene oxide)-poly(propylene oxide)-poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO-PPO-PEO) triblock copolymers and their interaction with surfactants have been investigated using static and dynamic light scattering, combined with small angle X-ray scattering, calorimetry and nuclear magnetic resonance techniques. In aqueous solution, the triblock copolymers P123 and F127 (EO20PO68EO20 and EO97PO68EO97, respectively) form micelles with a PPO core and a PEO corona. READ MORE

3. Adsorption Properties of Triblock Copolymers at Solid Surfaces
Abstract : The interfacial behaviour of nonionic triblock copolymers of the type poly(ethylene oxide-tetrahydrofurane-ethylene oxide) has been systematically examined at different types of surfaces. It is shown how the chemical nature of the substrate greatly influences the adsorption behaviour of block copolymers. READ MORE

4. Mesoporous Silica Formed with Triblock Copolymers
Abstract : The formation of highly ordered mesoporous silica materials, using PEO-PPO-PEO amphiphilic triblock copolymers (so-called Pluronics) as structure directing agents, has been studied. The materials are formed through the addition of a silica source to a polymer solution of low concentration (2.5 wt ) under acidic conditions. READ MORE

5. Novel Possibilities for Advanced Molecular Structure Design for Polymers and Networks
Abstract : Synthetic and degradable polymers are an attractive choicein many areas, since it is possible to control the way in whichthey are manufactured; more specifically, pathways tomanipulate the architecture, the mechanical properties and thedegradation times have been identified. In this work,L-lactide, 1,5-dioxepan-2-one and ε-caprolactone were usedas monomers to synthesize polymers with different architecturesby ring-opening polymerization. READ MORE
