1. Combined Energy Systems Applied to Productive Sectors: The Case of Dairy Farms in Central Bolivia
Abstract : Most energy solutions in developing countries focus primarily on solving domestic energy demands of their growing populations without due consideration of sustainable development. On the other hand, in most of these countries, a segment of energy users that has not received enough attention from governments and institutions regarding appropriate energy solutions is the productive sector. 2. The role of absorption cooling for reaching sustainable energy systems
Abstract : The energy consumption is continuous to increase around the world and with that follows the demand for sustainable solutions for future energy systems. With growing energy consumption from fossil based fuels the threat of global warming through release of CO2 to the atmosphere increases. READ MORE

3. CO2 mitigation in advanced power cycles
Abstract : This thesis encompasses CO2 mitigation using three different processes: i) natural gas-fired combined cycle with chemical looping combustion (CLC), ii) trigeneration of electrical power, hydrogen and district heating with extended CLC, iii) steam-based gasification of biomass integrated in an advanced power cycle. In CLC, a solid oxygen carrier circulates between two fluidised-bed reactors and transports oxygen from the combustion air to the fuel; thus, the fuel is not mixed with air and an inherent CO2 separation occurs. 4. Evaporative Cycles - in Theori and in Practise
Abstract : The thesis is based on applied research, rather closed to industrial development. The developed simulation model, for pre-design of evaporative gas turbine cycles, has been validated in a 600 kW pilot plant and in rebuilt turbo-charged diesel engines. READ MORE

5. Evaluation, Experience and Potential of Gas Turbine Based Cycles with Humidification
Abstract : Gas turbines, in simple and combined cycle, are common and economically profitable on the power generating market today. Several new cycles have been proposed as future competing technologies, but all studies about these cycles have, so far, been paperwork. READ MORE
